Another tough subject! There are just so many amazing series that I love, it’s hard to pick one. It’s like choosing between my kids! I love series, especially the ones that each have their own happy ending but we get to visit them again in future books. There are also some great continuing series, often trilogies. I had to pick 5 here. I couldn’t help it.
I am a stickler for reading series in order. I hate to read a book only to find out it’s the second in a series. I have over 100 series orders here on the blog. Keep in mind, not all series are published in the order they should be read, so I post the reading orders.
Kristen Ashley has written upwards of 36 books. She is so prolific, it amazes me that every book is so freaking good! Most of her stories do have standalone romances, but are part of a larger series, where we visit with couples from previous books. Some series are very connected, others hardly at all. Then they all weave and interconnect together in subtle ways.
My first book by Kristen Ashley was Sweet Dreams, the second in the Colorado Mountain Series. I completely fell in love, and finished the series, then moved on to the Burg Series, the Dream Man Series and the Unfinished Hero Series. For some reason, I stupidly thought I wouldn’t like the Rock Chick Series as much. I had heard it was more chick-lit less hot sex.
I couldn’t have been more wrong! The Rock Chick Series is the one that started it all and should be read first! Many of the characters from the Rock Chick Series cross over into all of her other contemporary series in cameos. Though the sex may not be as detailed as some other books, believe me, with these sexy alphas, it is still very hot!
The Rock Chick Series is about Lee Nightingale, the head of the totally badass Nightingale Investigations, and his sister, Ally and her friends. Lee’s friends, brother, and co-workers are “The Hot Bunch”, and each pushy, dominant, sexy, dangerous, protective badass eventually gets a girl, and each of those girls becomes a Rock Chick.
The Rock Chicks get themselves into major shit all of the time, but these hot macho guys are there to rescue. Any one of them is free to rescue me any time. Yum! I couldn’t even tell you which guy is my favorite, or which girl I want to be BFFs with. I just want to head to Denver to hang out in Fortnums, the coffee shop/used bookstore that they hang out at.
The Rock Chicks and almost of all of Kristen Ashley’s books are filled with romance, badass alphas, action, danger, humor and some amazing families and relationships. The guys are grunty, tough talking security types, and the girls are so real you want to be their BFF. All of the books are long and satisfying.
Whenever I am in a book slump, I go right for a Kristen Ashley book and it pulls me out every time. Since every book is so amazing, she needs her own rating system to show how good each book is to each other! I can’t begin to express my love for the Rock Chick Series, and it’s the number one series I will recommend to anyone.

The Chocolate Lovers Series by Tara Sivec made me laugh so hard things came flying out of my body. I won’t elaborate more here, but you may want to read about it in my 10 star review of Seduction and Snacks. It’s my only 10 star review.
Filled with 12 year old boy humor, piss your pants funny scenes, romance, relatable characters, chocolate, sex toys, pot cookies, and the funniest 4 year old ever, this series started my Tara stalking, causing me to start Wicked Book Weekend in the hopes of hanging out with her. You can read all about our vibrator fights, Henry the ass raping gnome and slick willy here. And you can have fun with her at this year’s Wicked Book Weekend March 7-9 in Ft. Lauderdale.
“I want to reach in my pants, pull out my virginity, wrap it up and put a bow on it. Or maybe stick it in a gift bag from Target and give it to him like a present with a nice card that says ‘Thank you for being you! Just a little virginity to show my gratitude”
“Seriously Drew? You told my mom you liked to eat bearded clam?”
“I assumed she knew what that was and we’d get a good laugh about it. How was I supposed to know she’d go on Google looking for a recipe?
Or buy them all in one set!

The Undeniable Series by Madeline Sheehan is raw, gritty, and completely blew me away. I was scared to read it at first, hearing how raw and gritty it was. But I had to see for myself. Are they easy reads? No. Are they fucking awesome? Absolutely. These books contain everything I would usually hate in a novel, but somehow, despite that, Madeline worked her magic, and I loved every word (thousands of which are some form of the word fuck, just so you are aware.)
“….when it comes to you, darlin’, I got no fuckin’ sense. You fuckin’ pull me in until you’re all I can fuckin’ see. Suddenly, I can’t fuckin’ breathe, but I don’t care ’cause you, babe, you’re you. And, I ain’t ever met anyone as fuckin’ perfect as you. Knowin’ you gave me your first kiss, and then you gave me that sweet pussy first, knowin’ that I got that and no one else can ever have it ’cause its fuckin’ mine–fuck Eva……”
Here is a quote from my review of Undeniable:
This book covered 25 years and was filled with lots of love, angst, hate, death, adultery, rape, murder, prison, and all kinds of wrong-doing. But in the end it was all so right. Despite Deuce being a cheating asshole, I was still in love. I loved Eva the entire book. I couldn’t help but root for the couple, and now I still can’t move on. What a great fuckin’ roller coaster of a read.
Each subsequent book in the series was just as awesome.
Stay tuned for Unbeloved and Undying (see covers here)

The Up In The Air Series and it’s Spin-off Series Tristan and Danika by RK Lilley is one of my favorite Series. Mr. Beautiful, James Cavendish is a very, very rich Dominant who sets his eye on his first class flight attendant, Bianca. This is a BDSM book that has the feel of Fifty Shades, but even better. James is possessive, jealous, controlling and a bit stalkery, but he has a super sweet, caring side. Bianca is a bit aloof and it drives him crazy. The two have a tumultuous relationship with a whole hell of a lot of hot kinky sex.
“He leaned down to my ear. “I’m going to ruin you,” he breathed. “I’ll be your first, and I’ll fuck you so thoroughly that I’ll be your last too. You won’t want any other man after I’ve gotten my hands on you.”
And he did.
The Tristan and Danika Series is a spin-off of the Up in the Air Series but I’m going to include it here. We first meet Tristan and Danika in the Up in the Air Series. We know something bad happened between them years before to cause an estrangement but we don’t know what. The Series actually begins 6 years before Up in the Air and we get to see what happened in the past. I can’t wait for the third book!
In Flight (Up In The Air 1)

Mr. Beautiful Mr. Beautiful will be a male point-of-view novel for the Up in the Air series that tells the story of James, and Stephan, and their unwavering love of a woman that would make the two men family.
Bad Things (Tristan and Danika 1) Companion to the Up In The Air Series, can be read alone, Actually takes place 5 years BEFORE In Flight.
Tristan and Danika’s Story (See my review)
Rock Bottom (Tristan and Danika 2) Takes place right after the first, still BEFORE in Flight.
Lovely Trigger (Tristan and Danica 3) Takes place AFTER the Up in the Air Series (A little during).
The Blackstone Affair Series by Raine Miller is set in London on the eve of the 2012 Olympic Games. Elite private security agent, Ethan Blackstone buys a nude portrait of American art student, Brynne Bennett and finds his world rocked to its core. The hot, kinky, posessive, over-the-top-in-love, dominant, alpha, Ethan Blackstone’s dirty talk is unrivaled by any other book boyfriend, and his crazy over-the top obsession-like love is up there too.
Naked, the first book, is the shortest, and told from Brynn’s point of view. All In, the second book in the series was one of the first male POV books I ever read, and I couldn’t get over how real it seemed. All that was on that man’s mind was fucking the woman he was obsessed with. I swear, that’s my husband too after 25 years. Eyes Wide Open is the third book in the series, and is told in both points of view.
“I want to be with you so badly right now. I want to take you home with me, and put you in my bed and have hours and hours with your body wrapped up in mine to do with as I wish. I want to have you there in the morning so when we wake up I can make you come, saying my name. I want to drive you to work and pick you up when it’s time to leave. I want to go to the shops with you and buy food we can cook for dinner. I want to watch some crap TV show and have you fall asleep against me on the couch so I can watch you and hear you breathing.”
Oh, did I say David Gandy is Ethan?
