Jewish Contemporary Romance Novels and Women’s Fiction
I love reading a romance with characters like myself, so give me a book with an old, fat Jewish single lady, and I would love that 🤣, but I will take characters with any one of those traits. I am more culturally Jewish (secular?): I married a non-Jew, I haven’t attended temple as an adult, only one of my kids had a Bar Mitzvah that he was tutored for, and I go all out with “Holiday” decorations.
But being Jewish is part of my identity, and I am proud of it. I enjoy books with Jewish characters, and if they are more Jewish than I am, I enjoy learning about my religion. This list is about mostly adult contemporary romance books with Jewish characters. There are a ton of books by Jewish authors that I didn’t add to this list, because I wanted this post to be about Jewish characters having happy-ever-afters.
First up are the books I have read and reviewed, in reverse chronological order of when I read them. Then I have a list of Jewish books on my TBR, followed by the Hanukkah books I have read and reviewed. I have a separate Hanukkah list of all the Hanukkah books I have ever found.
Note: Click the bookcovers to open in the same window, Click Amazon to go to Amazon in a new tab. These are all Amazon Affiliate links, and I may make a few pennies on your purchase, but you don’t pay any more.

In this case, I recommend ALL of the books I have reviewed, but I put a heart on my top favorites that are OVER 4 stars.
Books I have read with Jewish characters
*Mary Jane by Jessica Anya Blau has a Jewish family that’s integral to the storyline but they are not really the main characters. I had to include it because it’s a 5+ Star favorite.
