Lana is a spin off novella from the Up In The Air series by R.K. Lilley. If you have not read these books, why? This is one of my favorite series, and it is complete! While you don’t have to read those books first, they will absolutely enhance your enjoyment (haha, sounds like lube or something) of Lana.
We first met Lana in in the Up In The Air Series. As a long-time friend of James, Lana is beautiful, but married to her job. She is sad and a bit lonely, and still in love with Akira, a man from her home in Hawaii, that she left 8 years before.
Akira was 10 years older than Lana, but for as long as she could remember, Lana swore she would grow up and marry him. He looked at her like a little sister, but he was the only one for her. At her 18th birthday, Lana makes sure he knows she is a woman, not a girl. She saved everything for him. And the next day, she overhears this:
“It isn’t what it looked like. Lana is just a family friend with an inconvenient infatuation. Just leave her alone, k?”
So Lana leaves the island, her home that she loved, to work for her family’s hotel chain on the mainland. James and Bianca (from the Up In The Air series) had paid a little visit to Akira, and opened his eyes. Now, eight years later, Lana is setting foot back on Hawaiian soil for the first time, for hotel business, intending to just work for 2 days, and she realizes what she has been missing. She immediately goes to visit her almost family–Akira’s family. I loved them! And they loved Lana so much, it was clear. After spending the day with them, she leaves, only to run into (literally) Akira! She takes one look at him and is lost.
Let me tell you, Lana, a former model, is not going to let Akira off easy this time, she will show him she isn’t 18 anymore, and boy, does she show him!
Akira….mmmmmm, Akira. Big, strong, gorgeous, tattooed, bossy Akira. Akira let her go because he thought he wasn’t good enough for her, and wanted her to go out and experience life. But once he realized she still wanted him, all bets were off.
“I’m going to wring so many orgasms out of you that you’ll be too exhausted to even think about leaving this rock,” he growled into my ear.
Lucky us, we also get a visit with Mr. Beautiful, Bianca and Stephan and see how they are doing, plus we get a sneak preview of Tristan and Danika’s story. And I must tell you, I totally fell for Tristan in the Up In The Air Series, and I’m crushing even harder now!
- For a short little novella, I really got into it!
- I loved his family.
- A great end.
- Awesome girl fight!
- I wanted MORE! It was too short!
Rating: 5 stars (for a novella) 4.5 Heat
This was a great little add to the Up In The Air Series. There was no Dom/sub relationship here, but it was still filled with hot sex, great characters, romance, and visits from our favorites. The more I read from RK, the more I love, so her next book will be so amazing! I can’t wait!
R.K. has been generous enough to donate a copy of Lana to give away with this post. I will also have another RK giveaway later this week.
