Favorite Dom/sub or BDSM Romance Books and Series

Favorite Dom/sub BDSM Romance Books

See a more updated list in What to Read After Fifty Shades of Grey

I love me some alpha men. I love a man who can take control in the bedroom. I like like to play in the bedroom and get fairly kinky. But I really enjoy reading about the more intense Dom/sub relationships. The ones that are full-time and/or the ones that are in clubs. Before I read Fifty Shades of Grey, I liked books where there was a little bondage and spanking, but since reading that series, I was encouraged to explore further into the genre. I still prefer the “lighter” BDSM. I always prefer romance with a “Happily Ever After”. Some of the BDSM books out there are way too much pain and not enough love. I go for the story, not the actual sex scenes (though I usually don’t mind them ;-o ) So here is my list of favorite Dom/sub romance books and series with some BDSM elements. (Some might just have the D/s relationship, others may have more spanking and flogging).

At the top of any list in this category has to be Cherise Sinclair. This author writes romantic, erotic books with lots of BDSM, perfect alpha heroes, and nothing too over-the-top raunchy. She is wonderful at explaining how a D/s relationship should be. Her books also have a good amount of suspense and an interesting story. They aren’t all about the sex at all. Another thing to love about Cherise Sinclair is that her subs are never perfect and are often on the heavier side. She has two series I especially love:

Club Shadowlands is the first in the Masters of the Shadowlands series (see my reading order here) by Cherise Sinclair

Master of the Mountain is the first in the Mountain Masters series (see my reading order here) by Cherise Sinclair

Sylvia Day has the Crossfire series that has a Dom/sub relationship without the S&M. It is very similar to Fifty Shades of Grey with a rich powerful Dom.

Kristen Ashley writes amazing books with Alpha Men and amazing heroines. Though all of her men are dominant alpha males, I won’t include them on this list because they aren’t really “Doms”. But click on the Kristen Ashley Category to check her out. She recently came out with a series that does fit this category, and I love it:

Knight (The Unfinished Hero #1) by Kristen Ashley (See my review here). A lot of people who LOVE Kristen Ashley (her books are like crack) don’t love this one as much as her others, but I still really loved it.  See the entire   Unfinished Hero series here. ALL of them have a dominant hero.

I have read a lot more BDSM books than these, but these are the best ones (3.5 stars+) I have read. Many are a little to dark and depressing for me. Since I like my books with an HEA, and I don’t want there to be too many emotional scenes to interrupt the HEAT, so I will only recommend the ones that have a good story, a good ending and some hot kinky fuckery!

Other books that come highly recommended that I haven’t read yet are:

Gabriel’s Inferno and Gabriel’s Rapture by Sylvain Reynard

Purchase Gabriel’s Inferno: Amazon || BN.com || iBooks

.

Are there any that you can add to the list? Please comment away! I will add to this list as I read them so check back often!

The Dom Who Loves Me (part of the Masters and Mercenaries series) by Lexi Blake is a great love story with mild BDSM and suspense. Also, “The Reluctant Dom (Siren Publishing Menage and More)” by Tymber Dalton is a puller-of-heart-strings read. Both are worthy of a list of great BDSM books.

I sobbed…no, bawled my eyes out reading the Reluctant Dom. The Dom Who Loved Me was good, but not hot enough (in fact neither was very hot) but still both were solidly in the 3-4 star range for me.

Currently reading Gabriels Inferno (the 1st one) It is really good so far, but like Knight is not very steamy. There’s more steam in my Historical Romance books I always read before 50 Shades!! Bared to you was also good and my first book after 50 shades.

Gabriel’s Inferno has been on my TBR pile for a year. The reviews are very split on it, and I’m not sure I would love it. One day………

I would go with Cherise Sinclair’s Masters of the Shadowlands series. Those were my first after Fifty books and they were WAY steamier. I LOVE that series!!!!

I read both Gabriel’s Inferno and Gabriel’s Rapture this past weekend. Both books were interesting and intense enough that I had trouble putting the book down. I love how both characters are not perfect, both have flaws but in different ways are strong. This book is well written, intellectual and has depth. The only down side (which isn’t too much of a down side) is it’s soft. Though Gabriel himself is intense, the love making was just that, love making. I’m not against what many authors refure to as “vanilla” sex,but I guess I just wasn’t in the mood for it when reading this book so it didn’t really turn me on. If your expecting kinky this isn’t the book for you. This book is more sensual and about forgiveness and cherishing every inch of his “goddess”.

I reviewed it and was annoyed about how it was presented and the price. But I am re-thinking that decision, because it was really good and I see now that these serial books are a new trend.

I especially enjoyed the Consequences books by Aleatha Romig. Book #3 isn’t out yet, but 1&2 are captivating! A fantastic plot with suspense and plenty of Dom/sub relationship, with steamy scenes. I HIGHLY recommend them!
Gabriel’s inferno was weak IMHO. I didn’t enjoy it at all.

I’m always surprised when I see a category such as this with no mention of Joey W. Hill. She is my favorite in the contemporary erotica genre. Check out her Nature of Desire, The Knights of the Boardroom, and her Vampire Queen series they are all excellent reads if this is your genre. She’s a must read author!! 4-5 stars book reviews from me! I would love to hear what you think of her books!

I’m looking for a certain novel. I’ve actually read it but I couldn’t remember the title of the novel. The sinopsis is that an engaged woman tried for the last time to attrat her fiance’s attention by wearing skimpy underwear butwhen she couldn’t, she decided to go vacation, alone. Then, she mets the landlord when he’s having a bath. That’s where they start their affair. Long after, the man ex-lover is a model who has a bit of a screw loose. The model claims that she’s pregnant with that bilionaire’s child when it’s not even his. Media went crazy with the that story and more chaos happens when the model acts as if she cares for her child. When the models manager finaly told the truth about the child, it’s over of course. Did I mention about the woman’s father an ex-marine? Well, those two have problem eith each other. In the end, it went well anyway. The billionaire and the woman relationship was in trouble for a while but in the end, it was all right. So, can you help me find that book?

Tymber Dalton is similar to Cherise Sinclair, but personally I find her book better. She is an amazing author, lives a BDSM lifestyle, and really, really seems to understand everything. Love her! Her characters are amazing and complex. <3 Can't recommend her books enough! The Suncoast Society is her series that is all BDSM, but she has a huge range. <3 <3

Definitely alpha, lots of D/s over/undertones, not strictly speaking BDSM although it’s there, just without the boilerplate vocabulary, which I found refreshing: Kit Rocha’s Beyond series. Some of the best sex scenes I’ve ever read and they’re not formulaic at all. For most of the authors you’ve recommended, if you’ve read one example of how they write sex, you’ve read any and all of them: across books, across relationships, across genres, nearly, minus some dirty words (compare Ashley’s _Knight_ to any of the Rock Chick books, for example). Rocha’s relationships and the backstory to the series are considerably more interesting and more complex than anything else I’ve read (and I’ve read most of the stuff on your rec list). Cannot recommend these books and short stories highly enough.

Ok so I am trying to find a book about a Women who falls in love with her college sweetheart they start to experiment with BDSM and she gets hurt with a whip and he leaves her… fastfoward some odd years later and she has a new dom who she lives with and she is very happy with him but she sees this blast from her past and can’t help it affecting her… knowing this ,her new dom goes to this old dom and strikes a deal. He will give her up to the old dom for a set period of time (I wanna say a few weeks) at first she isn’t happy about it because she feels like a bad sub but eventually her new dom convinces her and she ends up falling for and wanting to be with both guys… they end up making a Polyarmory relationship work and both guys propose to her. Please help me find it!!

I’m looking for a series. It was about a group of girl friends, each book about one girl. Bdsm themes, one had a girl that moved to a horse ranch as a veterinarian or something, she ended up as more of the Dom. One of the other books the girl was an Asian girl. Can you help me find this series?

🎬 BOOK-TO-MOVIE NEWS! Annabel Monaghan’s Dolly Al 🎬 BOOK-TO-MOVIE NEWS!Annabel Monaghan’s Dolly All the Time is officially getting a movie adaptation! Sony’s 3000 Pictures has acquired the bestselling romance, with Temple Hill Entertainment producing and Gemma Burgess writing the screenplay. The story follows Dolly Brick, a hardworking 39-year-old single mom who heads back to her Rhode Island hometown with her son for the summer to help save her family home. There she crosses paths with Stewart Whitfield, the handsome heir to one of the town’s wealthiest families, who happens to be dealing with a very public breakup. A fake-dating arrangement follows, and we all know how well those tend to stay fake. 😏I haven’t read Dolly All the Time yet, but apparently I need to fix that before this hits the big screen!Have you read it? And if you haven’t, will you be reading it before the movie comes out?No casting or release date has been announced yet, so I’ll be watching for more news! 🎥📚
I can’t believe we’ve reached the end of the Mount I can’t believe we’ve reached the end of the Mountain Men Matchmaker series! 🥹❤️Bad Boy Era finally gives Everly, the family matchmaker who helped everyone else find their HEA, a love story of her own. And of course it’s with a tattooed, brooding, grumpy Irish rugby player who has secretly had his eye on her for years.I loved being back on Fletcher Mountain with all of the couples, the crazy overprotective uncles, the animals, and so many laugh-out-loud moments. Conri turning into a dragon daddy and his relationship with little Stevie were probably my favorite parts. 😂🎧 And if you’re an audiobook reader, LISTEN to this one! Connor Crais’s Irish accent is amazing, and Erin Mallon, Teddy Hamilton, and Emma Wilder round out a fantastic cast.I’m sad to say goodbye to Fletcher Mountain, but looking at this whole series together makes me want to start all over again. ❤️You can find my full review on the blog. The Fall Affair by @vi_keeland transported me to T The Fall Affair by @vi_keeland transported me to Tuscany, and I wasn’t ready to come home! 🇮🇹🍷A high-powered New York divorce attorney, three months in Tuscany, a purple Vespa, a gorgeous vineyard, and a sexy Italian winemaker next door. This had all the sexy Hallmark movie vibes, but with the emotion and heat I expect from Vi Keeland.I loved Allegra’s journey, I fell hard for Matteo, and somehow Nonna managed to steal the show without ever actually being in the story.🎧 I listened to the audiobook narrated in duet by Connor Crais and Andi Arndt, and they were phenomenal. Connor’s Italian accent definitely added to the whole Tuscany experience! The Fall Affair was the perfect little Italian vacation without leaving my house. Now I just need a purple Vespa and my own Matteo. 💜My full audiobook review is on my blog and you can swipe through to get more of my thoughts. I loved The Fall Affair by Vi Keeland! I listened I loved The Fall Affair by Vi Keeland! I listened to the audiobook, and let me tell you the duet narration with Connor Crais’s Italian accent and Andi Arndt made a great book even better. My review is live now on my blog if you want to see the spoiler-free reasons I loved it. Thank you so much @vi_keeland - I am so honored to have been lucky enough to get this, it’s amazing!
Are you looking for the latest romance book and ro Are you looking for the latest romance book and romance audiobook releases? What about all of the latest Kindle sales? My list has hundreds of books and I update daily. It’s always the top post on my blog. I’m case you missed it, Sky’s Edge by @kristenashl I’m case you missed it, Sky’s Edge by @kristenashleybooks is live!!! I am loving it so much! I don’t read a lot of books with my eyes anymore, and I was 50% into the arc yesterday when it released. I planned to finish with the audiobook, but just noticed it’s delayed until 9/22. I can’t put it down I’m loving it so much! My review of the book (not audiobook) should be up this weekend. This is such a fun and unique fantasy series. It takes place in the future, so they have lots of future tech, but they still have the old fashioned man/women societal roles. It features 4 best friends, and I assume they each get their own book in the Four Realms series. Though they each feature a different couple, you need to read in order for the world building. Honestly, this series is fun and unique, and I love how Kristen can take a fantasy and make it so uniquely Kristen Ashley. Sky’s Edge is the second book in the Four Realms Series. I don’t think you have to be into reading fantasy to love this. Book recommendation • romance books • romantasy books • Kristen Ashley

Bourbon & Lies by Victoria Wilder will be coming t Bourbon & Lies by Victoria Wilder will be coming to your TV screen! Who do you see as Grant and Laney? I love to see some romantic suspense books being adapted. I can’t keep up with all the TV and movie news, but I’m not complaining!Book adaptation • book to TV • book to movie
I know there are plenty of sectors where influence I know there are plenty of sectors where influencers are paid to appear. But is that necessary at book events? Is $1000 a reasonable amount for a small author to spend to get someone to talk about their book online? I got a package today with $14.10 postage (authors, use priority mail, it’s cheaper!) and I felt bad the author had to pay that much to send me her book. Take that thousand dollars and send your book to a hundred smaller creators that would be thrilled to receive a package and talk about it for free. Real reviewers don’t charge.
We finally got Everly’s story, and Amy Daws once a We finally got Everly’s story, and Amy Daws once again kept me entertained with her brand of sometimes silly humor filled with heart. I loved seeing all of the Fletcher couples again, and Conri with Stevie and the animals was adorable. The primal play didn’t really work for me in this case, but Everly and Conri were still a hot, fun couple, and I loved that he appreciated all the things about her that everyone else considered “too much.” I’m sad the series is at an end, but there are enough loose ends that maybe we’ll get another spinoff! Either way, Bad Boy Era was a fun way to wrap up the Mountain Men Matchmaker series. BONUS: Check out Amy Daws website for a bonus epilogue!Honest book review • audiobook review • romantic comedy books • romcom • grumpy sunshine • audiobook recommendation

In case you missed it, we had a lot of F1 romance In case you missed it, we had a lot of F1 romance book releases in July and more in August! I keep a running list, organized by series, on my blog, and I update it every time I find a new book. Have you read a Formula 1 romance? You don’t have to be into racing to enjoy these. They have life or death competition, travel to glamorous places around the globe, the competitive excitement of any sports romance, and plenty of speed. Book Mail from @kristenashleybooks - The Four Real Book Mail from @kristenashleybooks - The Four Realms series is a fantasy series set in the future which is so much fun. It’s like a regular fantasy with fun future tech. Book 1, Night’s Fall is out now. Book 2, Sky’s Edge is about a different couple but they are introduced and the world is built in book 1. Kristen writes my favorite fantasy because they’re different, but they’re all Kristen Ashley, and she’s been my favorite author for like 15 years. Sky’s Edge is out 8/18. #romancebooks #bookmail #romantasy #recommendedreading #fantasy romance
