October was a rough month for me since I spent most of the month recovering from surgery I did read some amazing books, but haven’t finished all the reviews yet.
OCTOBER REVIEWS
This is one of the best reading months I have EVER had, and I just finished reading November 9 by Colleen Hoover which was epic, so the streak is not ending!
Baking and Babies (Chocoholics #3)
by Tara Sivec
See my spoiler free review HERE or read my mini review:
“It’s hard to be irritated when my penis is happy after hearing Molly call me her boyfriend. It’s too conflicting and it’s always best to go with whatever emotion my penis wants, and my penis wants me to be happy, dammit.”
I couldn’t have asked for a better end to my favorite series. Tara knocked this one out of the park with her mixture of crazy, hysterical, funny and sweet without going overboard on any of it. Molly and Marco were adorably awkward together, yet just as crazy as the rest of them in their own ways. As much as I love all of the books in these series, Baking and Babies is for sure my favorite of the three in the Chocoholics series (I can’t include Tattoos & Tatas in that, because that’s a hands-down favorite). If you have read this series, do yourself a favor, stick in a maxi pad, grab a glass of wine or a “special” cookie, and lock yourself away with a box of tissues to wipe away tears of laughter, and sadness that it’s over. If you haven’t read this series, what the fuck are you waiting for?
Walk Through Fire (Chaos)
by Kristen Ashley
See my spoiler free review HERE or read my mini review:
“Walked into a party, fell in love with you. Walked through fire when I lost you. Got you back. Nothin’, Millie, nothin’ will make me lose you. Hear?”

Altered State
by Ella Dominguez
Guest Review by Raegan
See Raegan’s spoiler free review HERE or read the mini review:
“God, she’s so beautiful. With lips that beg to be kissed and a body that yearns to be held and cherished…”
This story had me audibly gasping and sitting with open mouth in complete disbelief and utter shock. I was angry and sad, happy and turned on, and at times even my heart hurt for the characters.
Wicked Fall (The Wicked Horse Series Book 1)
by Sawyer Bennett
See my spoiler free review HERE or read my mini review:
“Add in some kink.
Let people explore their fantasies.
Indulge in your nastiest desire.”
The only other book of have read of Sawyer’s is Uncivilized which was very unique (see my review). Wicked Fall wasn’t quite as unique, but I still enjoyed every second. It was hot and dirty, yet sweet and romantic at the same time. Throw in some fun, and some banter, and it was a great light and sexy read. I totally plan to continue with this series, and I think it will only get better.
Sweet Addiction
and Sweet Possession
Audiobooks by J. Daniels
See my spoiler free review HERE or read my mini review:
“He has officially ruined all other men for me and I am perfectly fine with that.”
Oh I plan on reading a LOT more J. Daniels. She writes the type of books I love. Light, fun, and sexy. The perfect beach or vacation read. Filled with likable fun characters, banter, good sex, and some angst to keep it interesting. Add a hot possessive alpha, and you have the making of a great book! The narrators were perfect for the story, and perhaps even added to it, so I highly recommend this audiobooks.
Sweet Obsession (Sweet Addiction Book 3)
by J. Daniels *Standalone*
Guest review by Tara
See Tara’s spoiler free review HERE or read my mini review:
“My god, he’s the owner, he has to be. With that body? He’s practically a walking advertisement for Abercrombie and multiple orgasms.”
You need to one click this book and add it to your library along with all of J Daniels other books, you won’t be disappointed. This book adds to J Daniels arsenal of amazing literary works and I know that I am looking forward to anything else she will write.
Breaking Him (Love is War Book 1)
by RK Lilley
See my spoiler free review HERE or read my mini review:
“He was just how I remembered. Every gut-punching, heart-wrenching inch of him”
“When our eyes clashed, and everything, every horrible, wonderful, painful, ugly, beautiful, tortuous, ruinous, gory bit of us came back to me.”
RK Lilley has done it again. She combined mystery, passion, sex, love, hatred, drama and angst together in an unputdownable story that has you craving more. Despite the damage this couple does to each other, you can’t help but root for them and hope this last quote comes true. “All we are is proof that love can survive anything.”
Madame X: A Madame X Novel
by Jasinda Wilder
See my spoiler free review HERE or read my mini review:
“I know this is expected of me, and I cannot, dare not resist, or protest. And…part of me doesn’t want to. But I wish…I wish for the freedom to choose what I want. “
I had a hard time getting into Madame X, and actually thought that if it wasn’t for the fact that Jasinda has never let me down before, I might have put it aside. The second person narrative as well as the shorter, poetic sentences and lack of contractions took a bit to get used to. But I am so glad I persevered, because it was PHENOMENAL, I read Madame X in one sitting, something I haven’t done in years, and since I just had surgery, didn’t even think I could do. But there was no stopping once I started. Madame X was the perfect blend of mystery, suspense, sex, and poetic prose, and I can’t wait for the next.
BESTSELLERS
1. PUCKED (The PUCKED Series Book 1) by Helena Hunting
With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. So of course she isn’t interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs. When Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match.
Suffering from a complete lapse in judgment, Violet discovers just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. Violet believes her night of orgasmic magic with Alex is just that: one night. But Alex starts to call. And text. And email and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts. Suddenly, he’s too difficult to ignore, and nearly impossible not to like.
The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.

18. Nowhere but Here (Thunder Road)
by Katie McGarry
An unforgettable new series from acclaimed author Katie McGarry about taking risks, opening your heart and ending up in a place you never imagined possible
Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she’s curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn’t mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns into an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.
Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They’re the good guys. They protect people. They’re…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club’s most respected member—is in town, he’s gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it’s his shot at his dream. What he doesn’t count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.
No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.
19. PUCKED Up
by Helena Hunting
Miller “Buck” Butterson has been banging his way through life ever since a puck to the face fixed his messed up front teeth. After five years in the NHL, deflecting goals on the ice and scoring them with puck bunnies, Miller has decided he’s ready for a girlfriend. A real, non-bunny girlfriend to take on dates, and not jump into bed with after five seconds of conversation.
Miller thinks he’s found that woman in his teammate’s sister. Except, unlike team captain and all-around nice guy Alex Waters—who happens to date his stepsister, Miller’s media reputation as a manwhore is well earned. Beyond that minor detail, Miller doesn’t know the first thing about relationships or the time and effort they require.
Miller learns—eventually—that if he wants to make Sunshine “Sunny” Waters fall for him, he’s going to have to do a whole lot more than show her his stick skills in the bedroom.

I hate rockstars. All of them. But there’s one in particular…
Drax is cocky, brash and one pitchfork away from being the devil himself. But he’s also the sexiest jerkwad I’ve ever met. Worse than that, he seems to crave my curves just as much as I long for his rock-hard, tattoo-covered body.
What am I supposed to do, just ignore those mesmerizing ice-blue eyes? Or how all my bits and pieces tighten whenever he’s near? Or the way his voice gets all husky when he calls me Lola?
Yeah, right.
That’s how I ended up on a tour bus headed for Vegas as the band’s new manager. But it’s only temporary, much like what’s going on between Drax and me. I just wish he’d got the memo. Oh sure, he’s putting on a good show that this is more than a fling, but I know he’s just like every other bad boy, heavy metal musician.
Want to know the worst part? I don’t like heavy metal or bad boys.
Maybe I’ll lie to myself a little longer.
