Sweet Addiction and Sweet Possession by J. Daniels
Adult Contemporary. Sweet Addiction can stand alone, but you must read it first if you want to read Sweet Possession.
I had had Sweet Addiction on my kindle forever. I love the cover so I know it was there, and, of course, I never got to it (or 2,000 others). But when I saw it on audio, I jumped on it! Turns out it was just the kind of book I needed and enjoy. Light, funny, sexy, romantic, with enough drama to keep my attention.
Dylan was a baker with her own bakery. She was delivering a cake and was an invited guest at her ex’s wedding and decided slutty wedding sex is the way to go. Step in Reese (or actually fall on him). Oh man, Reese is yummy. And the bathroom wedding sex with the sexy CPA was hot. But that’s all it was supposed to be, a wedding hookup. Until they both couldn’t get each other out of their minds.
He has officially ruined all other men for me and I am perfectly fine with that.”
Neither Dylan or Reese wanted a relationship, so they embarked on a ‘just sex’ friendship. Dylan wouldn’t ever allow them a bed, because that was too intimate. And no sleepovers. But any other surface was fine. You know how the “just sex” goes. Luckily the readers did too because though Dylan faked the no strings stuff with Reese, she shared her real feelings with the readers.
Oh the angst. The misunderstandings. The slaps! There was plenty of all of that. But there was never really a doubt about how Reese felt. Despite his player reputation, you know Dylan was different for him. And his possessive, jealous behavior was hot as fuck.
As was the sex. J. Daniels writes some good sex! and Reese was a hot, dirty talker as well. Yummy, can you tell I want my own Reese?
He’s in complete control of every part of me and everything we do together. Fuck feminism. I need Reese more than I need my next breath.”
I loved the narrator, she really made Dylan come to life and I had no issues with her at all, the voice fit the characters well.
Likes:
- Loved Dylan’s two best friends (including Joey, a funny gay guy), and they played a large part in the story, the fun banter was all them.
- How much Dylan loved her work.
- Reese–I loved his passion, his alpha jealousy, his protectiveness.
- A light-hearted, fun, easy, sexy read.
- I’ve always loved this cover.
Dislikes:
- Dylan is a little slap-happy.
- A little heavy on the sex and light on the love connection, but honestly, that’s real.

Sweet Possession
I am going to keep this review short. Sweet Possession is not a necessary book. It’s more of an amazing extended epilogue to Sweet Addiction, which is why I am reviewing them together. You must read Sweet Addiction first, but that can stand alone. Sweet Possession can not. But let me tell you, you will want to read this!
If you like Reese in the first book, OMG he is amazing in this! So possessive, so delicious, and so hot. And he is also the sweetest, most romantic guy. He can’t stand to be away from Dylan for a second. Sigh……
Sweet Possession is basically the 10 days before the wedding. The preparation, the bachelor/bachelorette parties, and the fun gang all getting ready. There is a little excitement and drama, but mostly this was a happy, fun read and a perfect follow up to Sweet Addiction.
But when I look at you, it’s all I can think about. Marriage. Kids. Everything. I want it all with you. And I don’t want to wait.”
The audiobook for Sweet Possession was even better because we have a Reese! And I loved him! Both male and female narrators were great and added to the story.
Rating: 4.75 stars, 4.5 Heat.
