When I’m With You By Harper Sloan

“No more fucking words but my name. Know who is claiming you. Let the whole fucking world hear who is taking you and making you his.”

When I’m With You by Harper Sloan has the perfect amounts of heart, humor, heat, HEA, & happiness. There is enough outside drama to keep it exciting, and it’s filled with Alpha deliciousness. If I could bottle the perfect book for me, it would be When I’m With You. It literally had every single thing I love in a book, and I finished it with wet eyes and hugging my kindle.

He took one look at her tear-stained face and dove forward, tackling her onto the bed. “I love you, I love you, I love you. Okay? Okay, doll? I’m the worst fuck-up in the world, and I shouldn’t let you love me.” His voice was hoarse and agonized. “It’s the best thing that ever happened to me. And I’m the worst thing that ever happened to you. But I can’t help loving you so much. I can’t help needing you this bad.”

Overall, this story has risen to one of my favorites. And Vaughn? He has earned a spot in my heart forever. Tessa Bailey creates magic in everything she writes, but this? This is So. Much. More.

“They saw me when I was 5, took me under their wing, protected me even though they were 10 years older than me. These guys were my family and it was my turn to take care of them.”

Quite honestly, this felt like a first book. I mean there are 12 successful books in the series so far, so I know it gets better.  The Rocker Who Holds Me is a great quick introduction to the band and the main players, but it felt a little amateurish. That’s OK though, it was a quick, fun read and I immediately clicked The Rocker Who Savors Me.

“Please, don’t fuck the housekeeper. I like her and if you do something that makes her quit, I will break your favorite drum sticks.”

I can see the author has matured in her writing and gotten better in this book, so I imagine the whole series will keep improving. I enjoyed all of the characters, but still feel like everyone is still a bit too stuck on Emmie, she still seemed to be the heroine of this book instead of Layla. Also, I am dying to read about Lana and Drake, but felt their story took up a little too much of this one and found my focus split. I would like to eventually continue the series, but since the next has the same narrator, I will give it a break to avoid confusion.

“You wouldn’t believe how hard it was, keeping my eyes on his face. The struggle was real. It might have been due to my not seeing one in so long, but his dick seemed almost hypnotic. The thing had magical powers, I swear. It was so big and mobile, subtly swaying every time he moved. My gaze kept darting down despite my best efforts.”

Dirty by Kylie Scott was a light, fun, sweet, barely-any-angst read. There was Kylie’s signature sweet, funny guy with lots of banter, and a heroine you love and want to be friends with. Though I felt it dragged a little towards the end, there is no question I will be clicking the next because I just love Kylie Scott’s sweet, funny banter, and I can’t wait for more.

“Then there was Ti, and my new happiness became the first time I saw her smile. The first time I kissed her. The first time I tasted her pussy by the fire. The first time she let me inside of her, shamelessly pushing through her virginity in a frantic need to make her mine. Because that’s what she was. That’s what she would always be. And I will kill every motherfucker who dares to try and take her from me. Mine.”

Though I’m not really a “dark romance” reader, I’m not sure I consider this series dark, or more brutal and gritty. It is bloody, violent, suspenseful, emotional, intense and totally sexy. But is is filled with such intense love, it jumps off the pages (or out of the speakers in my case). I am totally hooked on these characters and on TM Frazier’s writing. It’s amazing how these characters can do the worst things ever, yet Ms. Frazier makes us love them and root for them. This has become one of my favorite series. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Book Review – Mister O by Lauren Blakely

“Ask me my three favorite things and the answer are so easy they roll off my tongue: hitting a home run for my softball league, drawing a killer cartoon panel, and-oh yeah- making a woman come so hard she sees stars.
Not gonna lie. That last one is my favorite by about a mile. Giving a woman a sheet-grabbing, toe-curling, mind-blowing orgasm is pretty much the Best Thing Ever.”

Mister O had all of my favorite things in a book: heart, humor, heat and HEA. Lauren Blakely is great at male POV; The things that Nick thinks are hysterical. But I would have liked to have seen a surprise chapter or more from Harper’s POV. I felt like I never really got to know her quite as much as I wanted to. Still, I totally enjoyed reading Mister O with a smile on my face the whole time. I can’t wait to read Wyatt’s story in Well Hung.

“And, Georgia?”
“Yeah?”…
“You’re going to melt on my tongue.”
Holy Hell
“I think I’m already melting,” I whimpered, my head falling back on the bed.
“No, baby, you haven’t even started to melt yet,” he whispered, moving his tongue against me.

Tapping the Billionaire by Max Monroe was so much fun! I laughed and want to be friends with the characters. I swooned and want my own Kline. But most of all, I read it all with a smile on my face. Despite it having almost every romance book trope there is, Tapping the Billionaire was a unique and refreshing read. Now if I could just find out who Max Monroe is!

Megan’s Minis- Protecting His Own by Cherise Sinclair

STARS_4.75
FLames_4.5

“I’m sorry. Sorry.” She dissolved into tears again, wanting—needing— to apologize. My body is worthless. I’m hopeless, never good for anything, not—
There was a crack of sound and pain scorched her bottom. The shocking sting splintered her thoughts into fragments. Jerking, she met his annoyed dark gaze.

Oh, God, she’d been speaking out loud.
“If I hear any more of the crap Kyler shoved in your head, I’ll lay you across my knees , and you’ll get a spanking session that’ll leave you unable to sit down for a week.”

Protecting His Own does not disappoint. I adored Beth and Nolan in Breaking Free and I fell even more in love with them during this book. Overall, another fantastically balanced read from Ms. Sinclair.  If you have not indulged in this series yet, do not wait another minute!

TOP 20 MAY BESTSELLERS

1. Sustained by Emma Chase

Emma Chase, New York Times bestselling author of the Tangled series, returns with a brand new funny, romantic, sexy story!

A knight in tarnished armor is still a knight.

When you’re a defense attorney in Washington, DC, you see firsthand how hard life can be, and that sometimes the only way to survive is to be harder. I, Jake Becker, have a reputation for being cold, callous, and intimidating—and that suits me just fine. In fact, it’s necessary when I’m breaking down a witness on the stand.

Complications don’t work for me—I’m a “need-to-know” type of man. If you’re my client, tell me the basic facts. If you’re my date, stick to what will turn you on. I’m not a therapist or Prince Charming—and I don’t pretend to be.

Then Chelsea McQuaid and her six orphaned nieces and nephews came along and complicated the ever-loving hell out of my life. Now I’m going to Mommy and Me classes, One Direction concerts, the emergency room, and arguing cases in the principal’s office.

Chelsea’s too sweet, too innocent, and too gorgeous for her own good. She tries to be tough, but she’s not. She needs someone to help her, defend her…and the kids.

And that—that, I know how to do.

2. Perfectly Imperfect by Harper Sloan

**Standalone novel**

Mirror, mirror … who’s the fairest of them all?

I still cringe when I hear that line. A fairy tale that had girls pretending they were the fairest, the most beautiful, and the most entitled. A fairy tale most couldn’t grow out of turned my haunted childhood memories into a living nightmare. Girls who grew up believing that pile of garbage became the meanest of all ‘mean girls.’

And those mean girls were right – it was a line meant for all the beautiful people in the world – and I knew the answer would never be me.

The women with long legs, flat stomachs, and perfect chests.

The type of women Kane Masters gravitated toward.

Well, that’s definitely not Willow Tate.

No. That will never be me.

Because I’m completely imperfect.

And … I hate myself.

I have no idea what Kane could possibly see in someone like me when he could have them.

3. Breaking Him (Love is War Part 1) by RK Lilley

From internationally bestselling author R.K. Lilley comes a scorching new series with melt-the-pages tension and all-consuming angst. It’s love, it’s war and it’s Scarlett and Dante’s story.

Scarlett
It was the kind of relationship where I invested more than I had to spare.
I gave it everything.
And so when it failed, I lost myself.
It changed me. He changed me.
I went down with the ship.
My soul, burnt embers in the aftermath.
The fire of him ravaged it all.
He burned me.
Broke me.

Scarlett had always dreamed big. She was headed straight for Hollywood. Destined for silver screen greatness.
But in her wildest dreams she never imagined she’d be broke and single at twenty-seven, doling drinks at thirty-five thousand feet.
She was a glorified waitress in the skies.
It had been years since she’d seen him.
But one day, there he sat, gazing intently at her, ready to set everything ablaze once more.
Dante wanted her. Again.
Sure, she’d play along…but this time, it was his turn.
She was breaking him.
After all, love is war.

4. Tight by Alessandra Torre

From New York Times Bestselling Author Alessandra Torre…

This is not a story of servitude. This is a story of strength.

I was happy in my small town. In my life as a single, thirty-two year old woman. I had a good job, wonderful friends, my independence.

I also hadn’t got laid in three years. Hadn’t been on a date in two. Had stopped counting calories and wearing makeup… a while ago.

Then Brett Jacobs waltzed in. Caressed my thigh, dug rough fingers into my hair, lowered his soft mouth to my skin, took sexual control of my mind and stirred it all around with what he packed in his pants. He flipped my quiet life upside down and crawled into a place in my heart I thought was dead.

The issue is his secret.
The issue is her.
The issue is that I don’t even know she exists, and he thinks she’s dead.
The issue is that shit is about to hit the fan and I can’t hold on to him tight enough.

Note to Readers: This standalone book contains themes which could be considered dark.

6. Mister O by Lauren Blakely

From the NYT Bestselling author of BIG ROCK, comes a hot and hilarious new standalone…

Just call me Mister O. Because YOUR pleasure is my super power.
Making a woman feel ‘oh-god-that’s-good’ is the name of the game, and if a man can’t get the job done, he should get out of the bedroom. I’m talking toe-curling, mind-blowing, sheet-grabbing ecstasy. Like I provide every time.
I suppose that makes me a superhero of pleasure, and my mission is to always deliver.
BUT then I’m thrown for a loop when a certain woman asks me to teach her everything about how to win a man. The only problem? She’s my best friend’s sister, but she’s far too tempting to resist–especially when I learn that sweet, sexy Harper, has a dirty mind too and wants to put it to good use. What could possibly go wrong as I give the woman I’ve secretly wanted some no-strings-attached lessons in seduction?
No one will know, even if we send a few naughty texts. Okay, a few hundred. Or if the zipper on her dress gets stuck. Not on that! Or if she gives me those get-over-here-and-take-me-eyes on the train in front of her whole family.
The trouble is the more nights I spend with her in bed, the more days I want to spend with her out of bed. And for the first time ever, I’m not only thinking about how to make a woman cry out in pleasure — I’m thinking about how to keep her in my arms for a long time to come.
Looks like the real Adventures of Mister O have only just begun….

8. Dirty Girl (Dirty Girl 1) by Meghan March

Desperately seeking rich, famous, single guy with a giant cock to make my lying, cheating, should’ve-been-born-dickless ex-boyfriend realize what he’s just lost.
Oh, and I give great head. Just sayin’.

No man in his right mind would answer that ad.

Except thousands did.
My name is Greer Karas, and I should never be allowed near another bottle of booze again. Because when I drink, my friend and I do stupid things. Like take a page out of my older brother Creighton’s playbook and post something completely asinine on the Internet. Waking up with a giant hangover to find my humiliating personal ad has gone viral is not my finest moment.

Cue my look of shock when one of Hollywood’s hottest new bad boys, Cavanaugh Westman, comes knocking at my door and drops his pants to prove that he does indeed have a giant cock.
What he doesn’t have is an explanation for why he disappeared from my life without a word three years ago, only to show up on the big screen two years later, killing bad guys in action flicks.

Now he wants me again.

What the hell do I do now?

Dirty Girl is the first book in the Dirty Girl Duet, and Greer and Cav’s story will concludes in Dirty Love—available now!

I LOVED these books. My review will be up in the next few days.

11. Chocoholics Bundle by Tara Sivec

The entire Chocoholics series is now available in one, special edition book!

Book 1 – Love and Lists:
Twenty-five-year-old Gavin Ellis has always had the love and support of his family ever since he was a little boy and couldn’t stop talking about his penis. He’s also always had their unsolicited advice and uncanny knack of embarrassing him at all costs. Now that he’s an adult and trying to convince the love of his life to love him back, things haven’t changed very much from when he was younger. When Gavin’s best friend Tyler suggests he make a to-do list of items that will ensure he wins the girl, Gavin is one-hundred-percent on board: after a few six packs. After puking in the shrubs, a bad experience with Viagra, a Sex-Ed course gone wrong, and a slew of other mishaps courtesy of his family and friends, Gavin is pretty sure this list will be the death of him. Sometimes, trying to make someone love you with a list isn’t always the best idea.

Book 2 – Passion and Ponies:
Ava Gilmore has the perfect life. She’s surrounded by people who love her, she’s having sex on a regular basis and her Coach bag collection just grew by three. The problem? She’s expected to follow in her family’s footsteps at Seduction and Snacks, working with sex toys and baked goods. Ava loves vibrators and cupcakes as much as the next person, she’d just rather play with them than sell them. With her shopping addiction reaching an all time high and her credit card bills piling up, Ava decides to put her obsession to good use and start a fashion blog. But she has one other problem – the guy she’s having sex with has a My Little Pony addiction. While dealing with her family’s disappointment and confusion over her choices, she finds support in the unlikeliest of places – Tyler Branson. Tyler has slowly wormed his way into her bed and her heart and he refuses to leave. Tyler has his own family problems to deal with and for the first time ever, Ava finds herself feeling bad for the annoying, immature guy and chanting “Friendship is magic!” during the sex she’d swore to stop having with him. Ava needs to get her life in order once and for all before she finds herself doing something she never wanted to do – fall in love with a Brony.

Book 2.5 – Tattoos and TaTas:
Claire and Liz have always had a friendship that defied the test of time, but when one of them is diagnosed with a disease that every woman fears, their bond is put through the wringer. How do you cope knowing your soul mate could be taken from you? Filled with memories of their life long friendship, inappropriate behavior, bad tattoos and shaving cats, the two friends will realize that laughter really is the best medicine. Tattoos and TaTas is not your typical love story; it’s a story of friendship and learning how to let go when something is beyond your control.

Book 3 – Baking and Babies:
“I’m pregnant.” Molly Gilmore had a good life before she uttered those two stupid words. While preparing to graduate from culinary school and building up the courage to make a move on her hot, sugar-cookie-smelling pastry instructor Marco, she can’t wait to finally have the GREAT life she’s always dreamed about, instead of just the good one she’s been living. Always known as the quiet ninja, she fully intends to stay hidden in the shadows with her nut-job family, so they have no chance to embarrass her around the man she’s crushed on for two years. Unfortunately, her family has other plans. When they yank her straight out of her comfort zone, she finds herself starring in the craziest train wreck she’s ever witnessed. Molly ultimately gets a more exciting life that doesn’t revolve around school, but she’s pretty sure the man of her dreams won’t be sticking around long after her family gets ahold of him. There aren’t too many guys who can handle smelling like pee, having the whole world know how he masturbates, and being forced to eat an entire bag of dicks.

This is one of my favorite series EVER. See my reviews.

12. Wasted Words by Staci Hart

Some universal truths refuse to be ignored.

Peanut butter and jelly are a match made in heaven. Spaghetti and meatballs are best friends forever. And guys like Tyler Knight don’t go for girls like Cam Emerson.

She knew from the second she met him that he didn’t belong on her bookshelf, the six-foot-six ex-tight end with a face so all-American, it could have sold apple pie. So she shelved him next to the supermodels and rock stars and took her place on her own shelf — the one with the flannel-clad, pasty-faced comic book nerds. Most of her boyfriends have existed between the pages of books, but rather than worrying over her own lacking love life, she puts all her energy into playing Cupid, using her job at the book bar, Wasted Words, as her stomping ground.

Tyler Knight always looks on the bright side. His career-ending injury turned into a job as a sports agent. A horrible breakup led him to Cam, his quirky, smart roommate who is far more beautiful than she realizes. She’s made it perfectly clear she’s not interested in him — not like that at least — but if she ever changes her mind, he won’t hesitate. Because he doesn’t see the lines she’s drawn between them, as much as she insists that they’re there. Deep down he knows that despite their differences, they’re a match well made.

*A romantic comedy inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma*

Shatter the slipper. Spit out the apple. Fall for The Beast.

All-star linebacker Cole Hawthorne is a beast on the field, destroying offenses one broken quarterback at a time. Though he’s a gifted athlete, his violent reputation makes him a liability to his team and a villain in the league.

As Cole’s agent, it’s my responsibility to convince the brooding loner that being traded is better than getting banished from the game. If he loses his contract, this single mom is out of a job.

So, it’s up to me to tame the beast.

But the closer I get to the ferocious monster, the harder I fall for the passionate man underneath. He’s crude and charming. Tough and sweet. Dangerous…but even he can’t resist my baby’s giggle.

Denying my feelings might protect my heart, but the trading deadline is closing in. When Cole reveals the dirty truth about the trade, I can’t let the league rip us apart.

Do I save my career…or do I protect a man who deserves a happily ever after?

Maybe no one can love a beast…
But they haven’t met Cole Hawthorne.

Beauty and the Blitz is a flirty, standalone romantic comedy with no cliffhangers and a guaranteed happily-ever-after. As a special release celebration and a thank you to my readers, Sweetest Sin and Bad Boy’s Baby are included as FREE bonus books with this file! All three books are full-length, 350+ paperback pages of deliciously sexy romance.

14. The Empty Jar by M. Leighton

Three months touring Europe.
Romantic. Dazzling. Unforgettable.
The trip of a lifetime.

But some lifetimes are shorter…

We couldn’t have known it would work out this way. No one could. No one could’ve guessed that something so beautiful could be so tragic.

But it is tragic.
Yet so, so beautiful.

That’s what sacrifice is—beauty and tragedy.
It’s pain and suffering for something or someone you love.

And this is the ultimate sacrifice.
One stunning act of true love.

This is our story.
Our true love story.

A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

This book is not a romantic fairy tale. Yet, it’s the most romantic story I’ve ever told. It’s a journey of pain and loss, of hope and happiness. It’s both achingly tragic and exquisitely beautiful. It’s a love story. A true love story about real love. The kind that sees you through the night and holds you when you cry. The kind that won’t give up and never lets go. The kind we all dream about and few find. But it’s real. I promise you, it’s real. I’ve seen this kind of love, and I’ve seen this kind of heartbreak. I got to see it up close and personal, and quite honestly, I will never be the same. I hope it changes you as much as it changed me.

Fresh off the heels of a bitter divorce, there are only three things he gives a sh*t about: his daughter, his career, and his bachelorhood.

An attorney by trade and happily married to his job, he saves the drama for the courtroom and keeps women at an arm’s length. Their fragile, sequined hearts are safer that way. And besides, he’s not in any condition to offer them the love and attention they so foolishly seek from him.

Believe him, he’s not what they need. Not after what he’s been through.

It’s not until he’s assigned as the financial conservatorship for an aloof, enigmatic heiress that he finds his professional – and personal – boundaries pushed to the wayside. They’re all wrong for each other. Emotionally unavailable. Bitter. Jaded. And he’s supposed to look out for her best interests. Protect her.

But *this* wasn’t supposed to happen. And for that reason, Derek Rosewood pleads the fifth.

16. Love, in Duology: The Love in English and Love in Spanish Bundle by Karina Halle

Love in English synopsis:

He’s thirty-eight. I’m twenty-three.

He speaks Spanish. I speak English.

He lives in Spain. I live in Canada.

He dresses in thousand-dollar suits. I’m covered in tattoos.

He’s married and has a five-year old daughter.

I’m single and can’t commit to anyone or anything.

Until now.Because when they say you can’t choose who you fall in love with, boy ain’t that the damn truth.

***

To a restless dreamer like Vera Miles, it sounded like the experience of a lifetime. Instead of spending her summer interning for her astronomy major, she would fly to Spain where she’d spend a few weeks teaching conversational English to businessmen and women, all while enjoying free room and board at an isolated resort. But while Vera expected to get a tan, meet new people and stuff herself with wine and paella, she never expected to fall in love.

Mateo Casalles is unlike anyone Vera has ever known, let alone anyone she’s usually attracted to. While Vera is a pierced and tatted free spirit with a love for music and freedom, Mateo is a successful businessman from Madrid, all sharp suits and cocky Spanish charm. Yet, as the weeks go on, the two grow increasingly close and their relationship changes from purely platonic to something…more.

Something that makes Vera feel alive for the first time.

Something that can never, ever be.

Or so she thinks.

Love, in Spanish synopsis:

Successful, wealthy and absurdly handsome – Spanish ex-football player Mateo Casalles seemed like he had it all. A high-society wife, an adorable little girl, and flashy apartments in Madrid and Barcelona only sweetened the deal. But there was more to Mateo than met the eye – a life of uncertainty and regret that colored his black and white world.

That was until Vera Miles came into his life like a shooting star. Tattooed, wild and young, Vera seemed like Mateo’s polar opposite at first. But you can’t choose who you fall in love with and the two lost souls did everything they could to be together, all while suffering the grave consequences.

Now with Mateo divorced and living in Madrid with Vera, there is a whole new set of challenges and setbacks facing the couple and rocking the foundation of their star-crossed relationship.

Unfortunately for them, the brighter the star, the faster they burn.

17. Bastard by JL Perry

***FULL LENGTH STANDALONE READ WITH HEA***

Warning – Contains coarse language and sexual content. This book is recommended for 18 years and over.

My name is Carter Reynolds. I was born a bastard and I’ll die a bastard. I learnt it at a young age, and nothing and nobody can change that. I’m on a one-way path of destruction, and God help anyone who gets in my way. I hate my life. Actually, I hate pretty much everything.

That’s until I meet the kid next door. Indi-freakin’-ana. My dislike for her is instant. From the moment I lay eyes on her, she ignites something within me. She makes me feel things I thought I was incapable of feeling. I don’t like it, not one bit. When she looks at me with her big, beautiful, haunting green eyes, it’s like she can see into the depths of my soul. It freaks me the hell out. She’s like sunshine and rainbows in my world of gloom and doom. I hate sunshine and rainbows.

****

I’m Indiana Montgomery. My friends call me Indi. Despite losing my mum at the age of six, I have a wonderful life and great friends. My dad more than makes up for the fact that I only have one parent. I’m his little girl, the centre of his world. I adore him.

When Carter Reynolds moves in next door, my life takes a turn for the worse. He’s gorgeous, sinfully hot, but that’s where my compliments end. He seems hell-bent on making my life miserable. He acts tough, but when I look into his eyes I don’t see it. I see hurt and pain. To me, he seems lost.

I should hate him for the way he treats me, but surprisingly I don’t. If anything, I feel sorry for him. I want to help him find peace. Help him find the light that I know is buried somewhere within his darkness, but he won’t have a bar of it.

He’s warned me time and time again to stay away, but I can’t. I’m drawn to him for some reason. He’s always referring to himself as a bastard. That may be true, but to me, he’s more like a beautifully misunderstood bastard. Whether he likes it or not, I refuse to give up on him.

18. Tapping the Billionaire (Bad Boy Billionaires Book 1) by Max Monroe

A secret duo of romance authors team up under the pseudonym Max Monroe to bring you a sexy, laugh-out-loud new series. Are you ready to meet the Billionaire Bad Boys?

Blind dates? Online dating profiles? Been there, done that.

Georgia Cummings has zero luck with dating, and the era of the internet is not her friend.
No matter how fast she runs, how many corners she turns, she can’t find her way out of this weird, alternate universe where men think dick pics are a replacement for small talk and getting to know a girl. One more crotch selfie and she might write men off for good…

But why can’t she stop fantasizing about him?

Kline Brooks is the quintessential billionaire bad boy—dark, styled, short hair, muscles for days, and a panty-dropping smile.
Except—he isn’t.

As his employee, he won’t touch her with a ten foot pole.
But she won’t touch him either.

Too bad their hormones missed the memo.

Disclaimer:
If you’re the type of woman who prefers crotch selfies to small talk, this book isn’t for you.

If you enjoy random men you’ve never met filling up your inbox with dirty words and porn—for reasons focused more towards diddling your donut than laughing at the absurdity—this book isn’t for you.

If you HATE laughing, this book isn’t for you.

If you want your male leads to grunt, thrust like jack rabbits, and have one-track minds that prefer a nice pair of tits to brains every hour of every day for the rest of forever, well, then, this book still isn’t for you.

But.

If you enjoy a good swoon, a hearty laugh, witty banter, and some hot as f*@% f*@%ing, then consider Georgia Cummings your Girl Friday and Kline Brooks your next irresistible book boyfriend.

19. When I’m with You (Hope Town Book 3) by Harper Sloan
Nate:
It’s nearly impossible to be surrounded by love but not understand it. My parents, my sister, and just about everyone around us has no trouble accepting that love. To give your trust to someone else and believe they would die before hurting you. I’ve witnessed it—I’ve seen the power of it—but I’ve also seen the pain. Because for me, I’ve only loved someone I could never have, and my biggest fear is that by giving her my love, all I would do is ruin her. I should have tried harder, but I’m not sure I can because I only feel complete when I’m with her.

Emberlyn:
The only time I feel like I belong is when he’s near. His infectious smile warms me straight to my bones. Any insecurities I have vanish with just a wink from him. A sliver of his attention makes me feel invincible. But all it took was one drunken night of truths for me to lose everything I had begun to crave. Now, I’m not sure how to move on because I only feel complete when I’m with him.

He said I was too young. I said he was perfect. He said our families wouldn’t understand. I said we could weather any storm. He said he would ruin me. And he was right.

When I’m with You can be read as a standalone. Each book is interconnected, so if you would like to get to know the previous couples that show up in this book, I recommending reading book 1 (Unexpected Fate) and book 2 (Bleeding Love) first.

20. Dear Heart, I Hate You by J. Sterling

NOW A USA TODAY BESTSELLING CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE NOVEL!
JULES
I didn’t plan on him….
Or for him.
Or anything that had to do with Cal Donovan from Boston.
Meeting him had been a complete and utter surprise, taking me completely off guard. I met new people every single day in my line of work and none of them affected me. Wasn’t that the way of things though? You could meet a thousand people and none of them would mean anything to you, but then you’d meet one and they suddenly meant everything.
I was a self-professed workaholic. When did making yourself your number one priority become such a horrible thing? I wasn’t entirely sure, but I learned fairly quickly after my last breakup that men didn’t like being second on a woman’s priority list. And they seemed to be intimidated by a motivated female, calling me things like “hard to handle,” “challenging, ” and “difficult.”
Being single seemed to work best for me and I had no plans on changing my relationship status anytime soon.
And then I met Cal.
And he f*****g ruined everything.

Breaking HIm, Mister O, Wasted Words, The Empty Jar, and When I’m With You are high on my ‘need to buy’ list, so that $20 would REALLY come in handy. 🙂

I love collecting foreign versions of my favorite I love collecting foreign versions of my favorite books!

I have gotten SO MANY messages thanking me for recommending my FAVORITE BOOK/AUDIOBOOK of 2022! Mary Jane by @jessicaanyablau was so amazing, especially in audio. This coming-of-age novel set in 1975 was different than what I usually read, and I so enjoyed seeing the 14-year-old sheltered heroine see what life is like nannying for a progressive family who happens to be hiding a rock star for the summer.

Mary Jane is the perfect summer read, especially if you grew up during this time, and the narration by @caitlin.kinnunen was absolutely outstanding.

I couldn’t recommend it more.

Thank you Jessica for this version of the book! I love it!

I couldn’t stop listening to The Perfect Marriag I couldn’t stop listening to The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose. The storytelling and narration kept me riveted despite all the ridiculous plot holes. I had such a hard time giving this a star rating because I really enjoyed the listen even though the story truly made no sense and could never even come close to happening in real life. Still, I will for sure be checking out more of Jeneva Rose’s books after reading this and watching her hysterical TikToks.
