JUNE REVIEW RECAP
Audiobook Review: Stuck Up Suit by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward
“All I could think about was how I couldn’t wait to be inside of her, how I wanted to claim every inch of her, every orifice. I wanted to own her, but the truth was…she already owned me. I was so fucked.”
I loved the unique premise for Stuck Up Suit. I loved how different the couple was. I loved how it was fun and feisty. I loved Soraya’s personality, and that she seemed like a regular, real girl. I loved how hot they were together. The twist, however, took away from their story to me, so I couldn’t give it the 5 stars I thought I would during the first half. Don’t get me wrong, I still loved it, but I think these two authors can do better than using a common plot device.

Blog Tour Review – All the Rage by T.M. Frazier
“I’d never seen anything like the girl in my arms. Beautiful. Strong. Fierce and Fiery. A force greater than any storm and twice as destructive. In some ways, she was naïve. Innocent even. In other ways, she was the devil himself.
I’d never wanted anyone more.”
All The Rage by T.M. Frazier was a fast- dare I say it – fun read! While it’s still gritty and dangerous and sexy, there was something fun about it. I loved that it was a complete standalone, made even better if you read Lawless and Soulless. All The Rage was filled with danger, destruction, sex, death, love, romance, friendship, and a whole lot of crazy. I loved every second of it.

Book Review: Fantastical by Kristen Ashley
“Only you.” It took a lot but I forced my eyes to his face to see his were moving around the room. I shouldn’t ask. I really shouldn’t ask. But I asked. “Only me, what?”
His eyes came to me. “Only you could put color in a colorless world.”
The Fantasyland Series by Kristen Ashley is a must-read, whether you think you would ever like fantasy or not. Kristen Ashley’s stories, dialogue, relationships and personalities, along with her rich attention to detail make every world she writes about incredible. Fantastical was a bit like a sexy Disney movie, and such a fun change from the same old books. I highly recommend this series, and this just added more great to an already favorite series.

Book Review – Broken Dove by Kristen Ashley
“I tell you now, my poppy, for years, I never thought I would again be happy. Never again.” He tucked me closer and finished on a rough whisper. “So I never imagined I could be happier.”
While Broken Dove is not my favorite in the Fantasyland series, I still thoroughly enjoyed the read. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn’t just finished Fantastical because the visits with the other couples would have felt more like visiting long-lost friends. This situation was made especially difficult because the heroine was brought in to replace the hero’s dead wife. There were a lot of outside storylines that became a bit overwhelming and difficult to follow and I wanted a bit more of the couple bonding. But all in all, I still loved being back in Fantasyland so much, and despite having several dislikes, I still enjoyed every second of the read, and can’t wait for Noc’s book, Midnight Soul.

Charity Book Review – Hook & Ladder 69
Hook & Ladder 69 had some sweet stories, some panty melting HOT stories, some m/m stories, some emotional stories and some funny stories. I loved the variety and how they all tied into the firehouse. When I began to read, I took notes on each story with the intent of reviewing and rating them individually, but quite honestly, I enjoyed them all almost the same. The first story, Five Alarm, by Emme Burton may have been my favorite, and it got me sucked into the book. But the romances brought a little of everything like second chance romances (a few), brother’s best friend, single mom, mystery, excitement, and more. I think I wrote a note at the end of each one that said “I want more!” yet they didn’t leave you hanging.
I gobbled up the whole thing in a day, and now I have a whole bunch of new authors to check out!

Book Review – Dirty Girl and Dirty Love by Meghan March
“You’re my bad, dirty girl.” His other hand moves from the small of my back down to the bare skin of my ass. “And tonight I’m going to show you just how dirty you were made to be.”
The Dirty Girl Duet is now a favorite duet, and just from these two books, Meghan March is a new favorite author. She wrote the perfect kinky, dirty, possessive alpha hero in Cav, and made me love Greer and her best friend Banner. I was not a fan of Greer’s brother, Creighton, but I suppose I will be as soon as I read The Dirty Billionaire Series. I am already listening to the audiobook of the first one and loving it. I highly recommend The Dirty Girl duet if you like a lighter, sexier, more erotic read with a possessive, demanding dirty talking alpha.

Book Review – 1984 Against All Odds by Rebecca Yarros
“Those few minutes had only clarified two things— I was still pissed at her for the way she’d walked out, and I still wanted her more than my next breath. Fuck.”
I was a little disappointed in 1984- Against All Odds by Rebecca Yarros. Not in the writing (which was great), or even the story, but more because I was really looking for a good 80’s story, and this could have taken place now outside of a few references. I loved that social anxiety played a major part in the story and was written about in a very knowledgable way. I actually really enjoyed the story, but minus the social anxiety, I have basically read this story before…a few times. Even the twist is the same as the last rock star book I read. Still, I enjoyed the quick read, and rock star or second chance lovers will enjoy it.

Audiobook Review – Nights with Him by Lauren Blakely
“Let me have more of you, ” he continued. “Let me have you for a month. Give me your body. I’ll give you mine.”
“I don’t know.”
“Let me give you a taste of what I can do to you. If I don’t give you the best orgasm of your life within the next hour, I won’t ask again.”
“Check, please.”
Nights with Him by Lauren Blakely was one of the hottest books I’ve read this year, but I also loved the characters and story. It was sexy, romantic, fun, panty-melting hot, and the narrator is to die for. I was so glad that Nights with Him stood so well alone, I never felt like I missed anything by not reading the first three.

Tara’s Tidbits – Crow by A. Zavarelli
“A dark energy crackles to life between us as I stare into those savage irises. They swirl with an intoxicating and vivid array of colors I can’t drag myself away from.”
The author made me feel everything the characters were feeling in the moments and it’s been a long time since I’ve been sucked into a book so fully that I couldn’t put it down and that I had to jump right into book 2. Both characters are broken souls and have their own agendas to stay on the tasks at hand but somewhere along the story, the lines blur and the push/pull of possessiveness begins. It’s like a car crash this part, you don’t want to put your book down, you can’t look away because you know the peak, the drama, climax is coming and you must see it through to see how they survive it. To know if they make it through in one piece, if the happily ever after occurs.

Book Review – F*cking Awkward Anthology
“Holy shit, Nick!” Chelsea exclaimed. “I know, baby.” I smiled, her reaction inflating my ego. “What did you do?” The change in her voice had me opening my eyes to see what was wrong. Chelsea was looking at my dick with a strange look on her face.
The F*cking Awkward Anthology is one of the best ideas ever! How many of us haven’t been embarrassed or had an awkward sex moment? (Sex on the beach or in the shower is awkward every single time in real life!) It was a rare treat to read when a perfect sex scene goes wrong. I loved each story in the anthology and I am dying to read more from each author. While I will often read a book just because it is a charity book, this one is a must read even if the digital profits weren’t being donated to The Bookworm Box Charity.

2. Filthy (Rixton Falls Book 3) by Winter Renshaw
Filthy mouth. Dirty mind. Messy past. I’m no saint, and I hear my reputation precedes me, but you can’t believe everything people say.
I’ve made a living playing by the rules only when the clock is ticking, the ball has been snapped, and I’m cleat-deep in AstroTurf. But I screwed up last year. I went too far with the girls and the partying and the benders, and I created a PR sh*t storm for my team in the process. As a result, the team owner sentenced me to live in some gated, Floridian retirement village until I can “calm down.”
Football is my life, and I love my team. They’re the only family I’ve got anymore, so I’ll do what I have to do to stay where I am.
The rules are clear: no girls, less booze, zero publicity stunts. If I lay low and repair my reputation, I won’t get cut. It’s that simple. Everything was going well. For the first time in my life, I was living by someone else’s rules . . .
. . . and then *she* showed up for the summer.
My next door neighbor’s great niece is visiting, and it doesn’t take long for me to see Delilah Rosewood is the perfect mix of sexy and smart. She makes me want to break all the rules and draw every penalty just to get a taste. She’s all curves and opinions and bee-stung lips, and I’m all trying-to-do-everything-I-can-to-convince-her-to-give-me-the-time-of-day.
But there’s one problem: she hates me with the passion of a thousand Florida suns.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: This is a full-length, standalone romance. You do not need to read ROYAL or BACHELOR first, but for a very *limited time* both books are included FREE with this e-book version of FILTHY! Also included is an ALL-NEW series epilogue!

8. Wicked Fall (The Wicked Horse Series Book 1) by Sawyer Bennett
Never in your wildest dreams could you begin to imagine all the filthy and depraved things that go on inside The Wicked Horse. Step inside and Woolf Jennings will make every one of your dirty fantasies come true.
He’s covered in a facade of deception. An enticing blend of multi-millionaire and hot-as-hell Wyoming rancher, those that think they know Woolf Jennings admire his abilities to preside as CEO of his family’s cattle and oil empire. But only a privileged few truly understand what fuels the glitter of depravity in those gorgeous blue eyes. Only a few know he’s opened up a sinfully erotic and private sex club named The Wicked Horse right at the base of the beautiful Teton Mountain range.
Sweet Callie Hayes has returned home to Wyoming and is looking forward to starting her life over again. After a night of impetuosity, she’s managed to put herself right in Woolf’s line of sight… the man who she foolishly offered up her virginity to years ago and was flatly turned down.
Now Woolf is seeing that Callie is all grown up and has a kinky side to her that leaves him as confused as it does turned on. Worse yet, both Callie’s dirty desires and sweet heart are getting under his skin, and making Woolf question everything he’s ever believed about himself.
**Warning: this book has sex in it. Lots of sex. Dirty sex. The Wicked Horse Series is a bit different than what Sawyer Bennett normally writes. While you’ll still enjoy fabulous characters, a suspenseful story, some witty banter and an epic romance, there’s just… a lot of sex. You’ve been warned.

14 (tie). Dodging Trains by Sunniva Dee
I was twelve when a stranger at a train station taught me the meaning of ugly. He forced himself on me and threatened to kill my family if I told.
I stayed silent, and the ugliness grew.
Now, that word rolls in film clips through my mind. All I’ve done since my best friend, Keyon Arias, left town is cement how ugly I am. Ugly on the inside—deep down to my core. On the outside… I am a Vixen. I flash men a smile and make them moan out pleasure I control.
Not them. Never them.
After five years of being away, my beautiful boy has come back to town for his father’s masquerade ball. He’s different. Hard muscle supersedes the skin and bone of his once boyish frame. One thing hasn’t changed though: the murderous look in his eyes when he slaughters his opponents. In the ring, I see the bullied boy, all grown up, dominating in ways he couldn’t in high school.
He’s the mayor’s son. The rising MMA fighter. The beautiful one.
I’m not the Paislee Cain of before, not the sweet girl he once knew, the one who chased away his bullies. I’m the town slut. The dirty girl whose shame will never fade no matter how many men I use. He’d disown what I’ve become.
Because beautiful can never love ugly.

15. Man Candy by Melanie Harlow
He’s back.
Not just back in town, but living in the flat right beneath mine. And he looks good enough to eat, which is just one more reason to stay away from him.
But I can’t resist.
The sex is incredible (pretty sure we’ve shaken the house right off its foundation), but he can’t fool me—not this time. A degree in marketing and five years in advertising have taught me that “true love” is a fairy tale used to sell lipstick, diamonds, and perfume. It doesn’t exist.
He thinks I’m wrong, and he wants to prove it.
I think he’s crazy, so I dare him to try.
It might be the biggest mistake of my life.
15 (tie). Slammed by Colleen Hoover
Falling in love can feel like poetry. Or it can feel like a slam to the heart.
Colleen Hoover’s romantic, emotion-packed debut novel unforgettably captures all the magic and confusion of first love, as two young people forge an unlikely bond before discovering that fate has other plans for them.
Following the unexpected death of her father, eighteen-year-old Layken becomes the rock for both her mother and younger brother. She appears resilient and tenacious, but inside, she’s losing hope. Then she meets her new neighbor Will, a handsome twenty-one-year-old whose mere presence leaves her flustered and whose passion for poetry slams thrills her.
Not long after a heart-stopping first date during which each recognizes something profound and familiar in the other, they are slammed to the core when a shocking discovery brings their new relationship to a sudden halt. Daily interactions become impossibly painful as they struggle to find a balance between the feelings that pull them together and the forces that tear them apart. Only through the poetry they share are they able to speak the truth that is in their hearts and imagine a future where love is cause for celebration, not regret.

17. The Firework Exploded (The Holidays #3) by Tara Sivec
Sam and Noel’s whirlwind Christmas romance shot through Valentine’s Day and is exploding on the Fourth of July!
“You should get married on the 4th,” they said. “It will be so romantic,” they said.
Did you know that during a pyrotechnic display, a single firework travels 481 feet per second and can take out a small village? Did you know it can also singe the ball hair off of any man standing within a mile radius of said-pyrotechnic display (and singed ball hair smells a lot like a sh*t-filled baby diaper that’s been lit on fire), and it can make a vintage wedding dress go up in flames like a barn full of dry hay?
Yeah, me either…

“It’s just sex,” Selwyn said, moving closer.
“That’s what I’m afraid of,” she whispered.
Jack leaned forward. “It could be more.”
“I’m afraid of that, too.”
Headstrong, talented Kess has spent the last several years building herself into a successful real estate agent, and she certainly doesn’t have time for a serious relationship, especially after past experiences that have left her hopeless in matters of the heart.
When Jack and Selwyn, two gorgeous but clearly unavailable men, ask her to locate the perfect home for them, she jumps at the opportunity to impress her new clients beyond their wildest dreams.
It’s also a great excuse for Kess to spend some time with these two magnetic personalities, a much needed break from the monotony of her usual clients.
However, when the task proves to be far more challenging than she originally thought due to the couple’s demanding expectations, she starts to waiver in her confidence.
But she’s overcome challenges like this before, and she’s confident that she can do it again even when the going gets tough.
As the trio continue to develop their professional relationship, however, work turns into play, and casual connections give way to an unexpected blossoming of true love with a dose of serious heartache.
However, each of these three people have a fierce independent streak, and adding a third into Jack and Selwyn’s stable relationship might just be too much for anyone to handle.
Now all three of them are left questioning everything about themselves, their relationships and how to move forward.
They’ve gotten themselves in too deep, and opening their hearts to love may be their undoing.
It’s sink or swim time as each member of this relationship must do some heavy duty growing up and letting go of their own egos in order to hold on to the best thing that’s ever happened to them.

19. Brutal Discoveries by Kasey Millstead
South Glenn Maximum Security prison wasn’t for the faint at heart. The inmates weren’t there because they stole some cookies from the cookie jar.
They were serial murderers.
Rapists.
Pedophiles.
The worst of the worst.
It was at South Glenn that ‘Sweet Treats’ bakery owner, Scarlett Everett met two men who would change her life. Damon Salt was a man serving life without parole that she was paired with for a volunteer program called Friends for Lifers.
Prison guard Aden West was tall and tanned with indigo eyes and a strong jaw smattered with dark hair. Just a hint of what promised to be a sleeve of tattoos peeked out from the cuff of his button-down shirt, which combined with his buzz cut, gave him a bad boy edge Scarlett didn’t know she was attracted to until she stood there trying the catch the breath he took away.
One had the power to destroy her heart, the other had the power to destroy her life as she knew it.
