My Favorite Novellas and Short Stories

Sometimes you need a palate cleanser between books. Sometimes you want to sit down and read a book in one sitting. Sometimes you need a good ‘bedtime story’ to get you in the mood. And sometimes, you just find a great book, and even though it’s short, it’s perfect. On this list I will include all of the ones I have loved in no particular order. What is NOT included on this list are the books that are just chapters of a larger story, or novellas that are only for people who have read the series they are in.

Novella series, where each story has a beginning, middle and end are here, but not novella series that end in cliffhangers until the next book. (Sort of like the difference between a regular TV series vs. a soap opera). Each of the first books can stand alone, and any additional books in the series don’t end with a cliffhanger. They feature one day or night.

 

Hearts In Darkness by Laura Kaye might be my all-time favorite novella. Only 112 pages, it was emotionally moving and sensual. Makes you think twice about judging a book by its cover, but damn, the cover of this book is HOT!

Finding Cinderella: A Novella is a FREE book from Colleen Hoover. It stands alone, but is a spin-off from the amazing Hopeless series. Amazing, FREE 5 star read.

Friends with Benefits (Girl Next Door 1) by C.C. Wood is fun and sexy, and you’ll smile the whole way through. Though it’s the first in a series, it stands alone.

The One Night With Sole Regret Series by Olivia Cunning. This novella series features one night with each rock star in the band. Then another night and a third night are upcoming! I love these totally hot and sexy novellas by the author of one of my favorite full length series, Sinners on Tour. These can be read individually.

Lana by R.K. Lilley: Technically a spin off of the Up in The Air Series, Lana can stand alone. Filled with hot sex, great characters and a romance with a childhood crush, you can’t go wrong with any R.K. Lilley book. 114 pages.

Brie Submissive Training Center by Red Phoenix The first novella is free. You can also purchase this together as one book (Check though, this goes on sale for $.99 for the whole thing), but I liked the ‘episodes’. Each one is another day of Brie’s training. These books are highly erotic lady porn, and are great bedtime stories/ 1 handed reads for an hour before bed. The follow up is Brie’s After Graduation Series.

Continental Breakfast by Ella Dominguez. Continental Breakfast by Ella Dominguez was a cute, sexy little book with a lot of story and sex packed into 56 pages. There is a prequel from the male POV available as well, Continental Beginnings that I have yet to read.

Under the Mistletoe with Me is part of the With Me In Seattle Series by Kristen Proby. But this one can absolutely be read alone, any time of year. It is about a couple, married 10 years with a new baby at home, rediscovering sexy times in their marriage. I loved this little book!
