CC Wood has been a much overlooked author. She has a knack for writing sweet, sexy and funny love stories that are read in one sitting, and A Kiss for Christmas was a perfect quick Christmas read. It’s hard to believe this book is less than 60 pages because it didn’t feel like it was missing anything as most short novellas do. 5 pages in, I already loved the characters and wished it was a longer book.
Kevin is Blair’s best friend, Kaylie’s, older brother. Kevin has had feelings for Blair for years, but he never acted on them because he was in the Marines, and he knew Blair had always said she would not get involved with a military man because she grew up in a military family. Even so, Blair has lusted after the big, built, sexy Kevin for years as well, but had no clue he felt the same.
At the family Christmas party, Kevin couldn’t stop watching her. And wanting her. When she ends up hammered and standing under the mistletoe with him, Kevin couldn’t help but take her up on the purpose of the mistletoe with a kiss that made myĀ her toes curl.
If I knew a guy like Kevin was there I would have worn this and nothing else!
Cut to one year later. Blair was smashed the year before and doesn’t remember the kiss. She only knows that Kevin acted differently towards her right after the party. But she hasn’t seen him in a year. This time alpha Kevin isn’t letting her get away so easy.
He stepped closer until only a few inches separated them. “Ask me in, Blair.”
She blinked up at him. “What?”
“Ask me in,” he insisted.
“Um, I’m not really sure that’s a good idea, Kevin.”
“Fuck that. I think it’s the best idea I’ve had in a long time.” He cupped her face again and tilted it back so he could see her face. “I want you, Blair, and I’ve wanted you for a long time….”“…Her willpower was notoriously weak. There wasn’t a chocolate cake she could resist or a certain handbag that didn’t make her fingers itch to grab her credit card. Kevin Masters offering himself up on a sex platter for the night was a temptation she had little hope of resisting…”
What follows is awesome, hot alpha sex with clothes ripping, carrying, walls, and commands, mixed with tenderness and humor. The perfect blend of all the good stuff. Even better, there was no magic “coming on command”, and going all night without getting sore. Kevin knew just what to do, and even tenderly cleaned Blair up after (I love this, I think that is what made me fall in love with my husband).
The nice thing about this book was that the two have known each other for years, so the getting-to-know-you part was able to be skipped over without missing a beat. I got into this book so much in such a short time that I even got a little choked up at one point.
Likes:
- A lot of story for such a quick read.
- Kevin is my total book boyfriend.
- I loved Kaylie.
- Great blend of romance, humor and hot sex.
- The sex was realistic but still totally HOT. Nobody came on command, and Blair needed some external stimulation to get off (woohoo!)
Dislikes:
- I don’t really have any. I just can’t wait to read a full length novel from CC, because I have LOVED her books and want more!
CC and I have become friendly over facebook and twitter, so she gave me this book to read before publishing. But our friendship does not effect the outcome of this review even a little. This book was a perfect mix of romance, alpha man, friendship, giggles and hot sex all rolled into 56 sweet pages for the holiday.

Guess what? CC Wood is here at Ana’s Attic, giving away a copy of A Kiss For Christmas, and answering some of my questions. First of all, if you haven’t read CC’s other two novellas, The Girl Next Door books, I recommend them highly, but they are not related to A Kiss for Christmas.
Friends with BenefitsĀ (Girl Next Door 1)Ā Natalie York is done with relationships. D-O-N-E. After her latest loverboy hits on her best friend, she’s tired of playing games and having her heart broken. From now on, she’s keeping things casual.
When Nat meets her sexy new neighbor, Aidan Hart, she decides his offer to be friends with benefits is perfect. Soon, Nat discovers perfection isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Her ex reveals himself to be a slightly insane stalker, and, even worse, Nat discovers that keeping her heart locked up tight isn’t working out like she planned. Either way, she’s certain she’s in for a bumpy ride.Ā See my review here.

Frenemies (Girl Next Door 2)Ā Cat Johnson has been badly burned in the past and likes to keep her relationships simple and, usually, short. When her best friend, Nat, gets engaged, Cat meets Nat’s future brother-in-law, Patrick Hart, and sparks fly. The only hitch is his fiancee, Anya. Angry and disillusioned, Cat spends the next six months trading barbs with Patrick.
All that changes after Nat and Aidan get hitched. During the newlywed’s two week honeymoon, Cat offers to housesit, only to discover her now-single arch nemesis is living next door. He’s persistent and sexy-as-hell in his pursuit of her and Cat discovers there’s more to like, maybe even love, about Patrick Hart than she once thought. She wonders if she can trust this man with her heart or too afraid to try.Ā See my review here.

I snapped this photo on vacation, and had to use it here to welcome CC to the blog. My questions and comments are in purple and CC’s answers are in black.
Hey hot stuff! Thanks for hangin’ with me tonight!
Thanks for having me do an interview! I like your questions.
What inspired you to write this story?– I love Christmas. I love hot guys. Nuff said.
See why I love her so much?
What are you working on now?– My first full-length novel. I’m about 75% done with the rough draft. Already planning two more books in that series.
I have heard the some details and it sounds awesome!Ā
What are you most looking forward to in the next 2-3 months?– Finishing my WIP and writing Kaylie’s (from A Kiss for Christmas) story for Valentine’s Day.
I’m so excited we will get Kaylie’s story! I love her! But wait…..you forgot something really important here. You are coming to Orlando for the Wicked Girl’s Book Weekend in February! Fuck everything else, you know you can’t wait to meet me bitch.
Please, you’ve been cyberstalking me for months. I’ll have to peel you off me. I can’t wait for the Wicked Girls’ Book Weekend! I have a feeling it will be like a huge middle school slumber party, but with smutty conversation and alcohol. Perhaps we should plan a trip to a male strip club. The important question is: who’s gonna have the bail money?Ā Ā
What are you most looking forward to in the next year? Having a baby!
I knew that, but still, I think you could have been thoughtful enough to wait to get knocked up until after the big weekend. We had some serious plans for you. And with Tara Sivec, Scandalicious, Kerry and Ricki and many more coming as well (you are all invited. E-mail me for more info), we will have to find a way to have fun sober (well at least you will).
Favorite kind of music?– I like all music, even classical, but I’m addicted to alternative, like Breaking Benjamin, Theory of a Deadman, and Hinder
Do you listen to music while you write?Ā I do write to music sometimes. Usually I just leave the TV on for background noise.
I know you are a musician. Do you write any music?- I’ve played piano my entire life and even have music degrees, but I don’t write much. I used to write songs a la Tori Amos, but I don’t any more.
Biggest pet peeve?– People who lack common courtesy. It is not hard to say please and thank you and acknowledge that you do not live in the universe alone.
What did you want to be when you were little?– A writer/rockstar (1 out of 2 ain’t bad)
Favorite fast food?– Jack in the Box- I’m craving curly fries!!
What store would you choose to max out your credit card?– Target, where else?
(We tend to tweet eachother from there–my fellow Target junkie. I think that was how we bonded!)Ā
Tattoos?– One. And yes, it is a tramp stamp. (Figures) It’s the Chinese symbol for passion.
Holiday Questions:
Favorite holiday book: The Night Before Christmas

Favorite holiday Treat: Candied sweet potatoes. Homemade chicken and dressing. Pumpkin pie. Hell, I can’t decide.
Favorite holiday Tradition: Opening one present on Christmas Eve
Favorite holiday Song: The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole
What drives you crazy about the holidays? That people sometimes forget what the holidays are about- family and enjoying your blessings.
Who is your favorite book blogger? Why you, Ana! Um, and Scandalicious…
I know she is just saying that so Scandal doesn’t give bad reviews….it’s me š
What question should I have asked that you want to answer? Favorite sexual position.
So what is it?Ā
