Dawson and Grey meet again, and he is so sweet and protective of her. He takes care of her. He carries her to her dorm room in front of the whole campus. And Grey feels things, things she knows she shouldn’t because of the way she grew up.
“I wan’t to slide off my chair and into his lap, and I want to kiss him again. The thought terrifies me. I shouldn’t want him. He’s…wrong. Wanting him is wrong. Sex is wrong. That’s been drilled into me since I was a small girl.”
The swoony, alpha movie star, Dawson, is used to getting what he wants, but this time, he wants more.
“I want to kiss you whenever I feel like it. I want to tell you when you’re being ridiculous. I want to make love to you. I want to fuck you. I want to hold you. I want to be yours. I don’t know you, like, at all, but I want all this. It’s total craziness. I feel like I should be admitted for saying this to you. Fuck, I should have my man-card revoked for being all emotional and girly and telling you my feelings. But… I’m nothing if not honest. So there it is.”
A little personal story: I have met a few strippers in my day. A virgin stripper is not as unbelievable is you may think. I used to sell advertising for the local paper in an area that had private-room ‘strip’ clubs (well, that’s what they say….but the tissues and lotion were provided). I had to collect advertising money every week, and since General Hospital was often on and it was hot as hell outside, I’d stay and chat a bit. Most of the girls were single moms or putting themselves through college or nursing school. A lot were gay. But one girl was thrown out of her house at 17 and worked there for 3 years. She never kissed a guy. After seeing the sleazes that came in, sadly, she wasn’t sure she ever would.
“I’m not the kind of girl he’s used to. I’m not an L.A. girl. I’m not an actress or someone sexy and confident and sure of who I am. I’m a mess. A confused, embarrassed, shameful mess. And he’s the god of Hollywood.”
Likes:
- I love a Cinderella/Pretty Woman type of story.
- A very addicting read.
- Grey was believable as the innocent stripper.
- Jasinda has a way of writing that really makes you feel as if you are there. I get a full movie in my head more than with most other authors.
- The internal wars Grey had with herself seemed very real.
- I ran the gamut of emotions throughout the book.
- One of the longest, most intense, hottest, most romantic, erotic, sensual lovemaking scenes ever. (Enough time to grab BOB and finish! lol)
Dislikes:
- TURGID!!! CLEFT!!! Oh, Jasinda can write sensual scenes but her choice of words often kills the mood for me. The word cleft was way overused (have you ever referred to your vagina as a cleft?), and please…turgid??? (Please see my posts Wicked Book Girls Night: Dirty Words 1 & Dirty Words 2)
- Besides the wording, the love scenes are great, but a little too over-the top mushy-lovey to me after a while. I got bored. Give me some hard, up against the wall, pull my hair sex…but that just may be my thing.
Rating: 4.5 stars, 5 Heat
Stripped is not another Falling Into You. It doesn’t totally gut you (though I did cry) but it also didn’t completely and totally blow me away. I would put it at a very solid 4.25-4.5 (I’m rounding up), because I honestly went back and forth 3 times between 4 and 4.5. I think I am also comparing it a bit to Wounded and Falling Into You by Jasinda which were EPIC books in my opinion.
I highly recommend Stripped, especially if you enjoy the Pretty Woman/Cinderella story. What girl doesn’t dream of the hottest Hollywood star coming to take them out of their miserable life?

Jeez,I had to scroll forever to get down to the bottom ,lol, I love your blog and read it everyday and I started reading Jasinda when she first started writing and have exchanged emails with her and got some of her thong panties also ,lol, I have read everything she has written and loved each one but the thing that I really liked about stripped before I even pre-ordered it was the blurb that said she had no choice,she had no money and no choices and it reminded me of the interview Jasinda did showing that she and her husband both write the books and that she started writing because they were about to lose their home and they have 5 kids and need that home,so I figured that this book (which I just started) I figure she should know of what she writes as they too were facing losing it all,so I can’t wait to get back to reading it,Ill stay up tonight until I finish it cause I can never find a stopping point to try to go to sleep lol ps-Love your blog,one of the best
