Erotic Romance. Can Stand Alone.

Whoa. If you are looking for a super hot read with kink AND story, The Blindfold Club books by Nikki Sloane totally fit the bill. I really loved Three Simple Rules (see my review) which ended on a bit of a cliffy that was resolved in this one. The thing is, I didn’t really like Payton very much in the first book, and Three Hard Lessons is Payton’s book, so there was an obstacle to get over right from the start.

Payton is a high-end prostitute at The Blindfold Club, and she loves what she does. She loves sex and has no shame about it. So much so that she even goes into work on a night she isn’t scheduled to work. Lucky her, a client comes in and drops $30,000 for a night with her, and he just wants to talk and hold hands! (Sidenote, this made me laugh because my son has a song on his album about getting a prostitute and just talking to her all night).

“I’m going to be thinking about this, every night for the next year. Every night it will be you.”

Dom lives and works abroad and hasn’t been with a woman in about a year. He has to go back for another year, so this night’s memories need to hold him over for a long time.

As soon as they touched, they both knew this was a little different. So much so that it caused some major problems for both of them, but also left her open to accepting a proposition from Dom.

I really loved Dom, he was alpha and commanding, yet shy and sweet at the same time, and I loved how he was willing to learn more about things that she might like, and he took the learning very seriously.

There were some super hot, kinky scenes, including more f/f and groups. There was a LOT of sex, yet there was still a unique and different storyline happening.

Payton had so many rules built up to guard her heart, and I loved watching Dom knock each and every one down.

“I can’t make you say you love me.” He blinked and the aqua in his eyes darkened. They filled with determination. “But I can make you feel it.”

Likes:

A different and unique story.
Totally hot, unique and kinky sex.
Despite there being a lot of sex, there was still story.
Location!
I loved how Dominic went out of his way to learn things she may like.

Dislikes:

Though she grew on me, I never really fell for Payton.
I would have liked to “see” more sights.

Narration:

Muffy Newtown/Erin Mallon is a great narrator though she often seems a little sad to me. But it seems that 90% of the books I read are either her or Andi Arndt/Elena Wolfe, and I would love to hear some new voices. Still, she did a great job.

The Down & Dirty:

I would definitely say that this is one of the hottest series I have read that doesn’t take place in a BDSM club. I love that the stories themselves are more than just sex, yet hot, kinky, unique sex was a huge part of them. There is group sex and f/f sex and BDSM and all kinds of yumminess. I started this book not liking Payton, the heroine, but she mostly won me over in this installment. I really loved Dominic and his sweet but alpha ways. What I really enjoyed most was how unique the location and story was! If you are looking for a hot, kinky, sexy book that has an actual story, I highly recommend this series, and I look forward to grabbing the next!
