Dr OB: St Lukes Docuseries Book 1 by Max Monroe
Narrated by: Stephanie Wyles, Alexander Cendese
Contemporary Romance. Stands Alone but related to others.
I wish I had the time to read every single Max Monroe book now (I plan on trying!), because honestly, they are my PERFECT reads. Dr. OB by Max Monroe is the first in a new romantic comedy series featuring a reality show about Doctors. It’s loosely related to the Billionaire Bad Boy series with crossover characters, but you absolutely don’t have to read them first.
Melody Marcos was a labor and delivery nurse on the west coast. Unemployed and fresh out of a long-term relationship, she has moved home to NY to start fresh. Until she gets that start, she is living with her meddling parents.
“To make a long story short, my life outlook was grim-twenty-nine years old, and I had officially moved back home into my parent’s apartment. I was newly single, had no job, and would be spending my nights sleeping between a treadmill and a thigh master.”
Meddling mom arranges Melody an interview at an OBGYN office in New York. While Melody isn’t yet sure that’s what she wants to do, she shows for the interview anyway. Very late, and very disheveled.
Dr. Will Cummings is a handsome, single OBGYN. Thinking it might help him score with the ladies, he agrees to be in a docudrama about Doctors. The problem is, after editing, Will looks like a total gyno-perv, earning the nickname “Dr. OBscene”.
“Since the stupid show had aired that first night, every woman I encountered either hit me or hit on me, and nothing in between.”
Nurses are applying just to stalk the handsome Doctor, and patients are spreading their legs for him hoping for way more than a pap smear. He is the hottest gossip topic in town. But Melody wasn’t aware of the show, and never heard of him, so she was perfect for the job.
Except the immediate attraction between them couldn’t be denied.
“My traitorous gaze moved down his shoulders to his back and landed on his perfectly firm ass. Sweet baby pigeons in a kayak, my new boss was an Adonis. I wonder what he looks like naked.”
Their first meet may have been one of the FUNNIEST and most awkward I have read. I was totally snort-laughing out loud. I loved BOTH of the characters. They had amazing banter and dirty talk. It was HOT, it was SEXY, it was FUNNY, it was SWOONY and he was an awesome DIRTY TALKER. Though Will wasn’t quite as alpha as some of the books I read, I really loved him. He was realistic alpha instead of jerky alpha who is  sexy in books, but not-so-sexy in real life.
Likes:
- I laughed out loud several times.
- Vagina jokes are funny no matter what, they just are.
- I loved Melody despite a stupid moment at the beginning (who forgets a bra?).
- So well written and well paced.
- The sex scenes were just dirty enough to be totally HOT, but they never overpowered the story or humor.
- The patients made me laugh.
- Unique and different.
- Her little “holy crap” substitutes.
Dislikes:
- The conflict at the end that was caused by a lie.
The Narration:
WooHoo! Different narrators! And I loved them BOTH! Alexander Cendese was very sexy and reminded me of Sebastian York but not the same. Stephanie Wyles was young and a little ditzy sounding which was perfect for the part. I couldn’t have wished for better narration! I absolutely think it enhanced the story.
The Down & Dirty:
Rating: 4.5 Stars+, 4.5 Heat, 5 Narration
