Riskier Business is book #0.5 of Tessa Bailey’s new series, Crossing the Line. It is actually a sequel to His Risk to Take, Troy and Ruby’s story from her Line of Duty series. This book sets the scene for the first full length novel in the Crossing the Line series, Risking It All, which comes out January 27, 2015. (Review and giveaway to come tomorrow)

For those of you who know me, or follow Ana’s blog regularly, you know I am a hard core, full on fangirl, lover of Tessa Bailey and her work. For me, her books are the perfect blend of sexy times, humor, and suspense…with a full blown dose of dirty talk. When a new Tessa Bailey book releases, I click. I don’t read the summary. I don’t wait to see reviews. I. Just. Click. Because I KNOW that Tessa will not disappoint me. And she hasn’t!

I recently reread (via audio book this time) His Risk to Take and just wanted MORE of the sassy, independent Ruby, and the fiercely protective Troy. And Tessa delivered. Riskier Business brings us back to one of my favorite couples. And we start off immediately with Troy’s panty melting whispers in Ruby’s ear.

I have what makes you moan. What’s going to make those thighs open wide. I’ve got it right here and you’re fucking dying for it.”

Troy thrives on control. He needs it. And when things start to spin out, he can’t handle it. Which is exactly what happens when Ruby’s father comes back and has a proposition for her. He wants her to play one more game. The risk is high. But, to Ruby, the reward may be even higher. This is takes Troy’s perfectly precise control and flushes it down the toilet.

“Troy was so damn proud of her, of everything she’d done despite the disadvantages of her upbringing. She’d finally come into her own. Now this news had swung in like a wrecking ball, threatening to dismantle it all”

Obviously, Troy is most concerned about Ruby’s safety. And Ruby is feeling the pressure and need to take this game…yet she has her own concerns for Troy’s safety too. These two are so incredibly passionate; you know that this will inevitably lead to some tense moments. But along with the tense moments, come the “make up” moments…and dear lord almighty…. THEY ARE STEAMY! One word….”stockroom”. DANG!

MOTHER OF GOD… are you kidding me?! Is it hot in here?? I need a fan. And an ice bath. And a new pair of panties.

This book is chocked full of signature Tessa Bailey hotness. But it also has the perfect amount of humor, suspense, and romance. Troy and Ruby’s love is so tangible in this story. You can FEEL it surround you as you’re reading. Tessa delivers all of the emotion that comes with a love so pure.

Rating: 5 stars for storyline, 5++++ for Heat!

Overall, I LOVED Riskier Business. It was the perfect follow up to His Risk to Take and a fantastic set up for Bowen’s book, Risking It All. I am dying to meet Tessa Bailey at Wicked Book Weekend in February…I am going to tackle hug her to the ground!
