Fragile Sanctuary (Sparrow Falls Book 1) by Catherine Cowles
Narrated by Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber
Romantic Suspense. Stands Alone but first in a related series.
My thanks to Catherine Cowles for providing an advance audio copy for review purposes. Ana’s Attic accepts no compensation for reviews, and all reviews contain my honest opinion.
WOW. I don’t know how Catherine Cowles does it, but she just keeps getting better! Fragile Sanctuary is the first in a new small-town romantic suspense series by Catherine Cowles. I read her last three series and they were each my favorite series of the year. I can tell you right now, The Sparrow Falls Series will be as well. I’m already in love with all of the characters, and Fragile Sanctuary was an AMAZING start to the series.
“Home is wherever you are,” he whispered. “You’re my sanctuary. Where I feel peace. Where I feel seen. Don’t want anything more.”
It’s like Catherine took her previous books and added some low-dose steroids. Fragile Sanctuary was funnier, HOTTER, and more surprising than her past stories. At one point I was 99% sure I guessed the bad guy. I figured I knew Catherine’s style so well that I had it right this time. Nope. I was wrong! While I would have still loved it if I had guessed correctly, I’m even happier I didn’t.
“Everything about you is made to burn into a man’s brain. And I’ll never get tired of staring.” He rose, coming closer. “Or tasting.”
I loved Rhodes. She went through the worst tragedy anyone can endure as a child and lost her whole family in the process. Luckily she was taken in by her best friend’s family at a young age and gained a large, amazing family with very over-protective foster brothers in the process. Her brother Shep runs a construction company and his college best friend, Anson, has recently started working for him.
“What happens if you snap?”
Anson is as grumpy as they get. He doesn’t talk about his history as an ex FBI profiler, it’s a past that he wants to keep as far away from him and his life as he can. But when ‘accidents’ start happening to his best friend’s sister, his protective side can’t hold back anymore…neither can any other side!
“Grab the headboard.”
Likes:
- I love a good nickname, and ‘Reckless’ was great.
- Catherine’s hottest book yet.
- It was easy to keep track of all the characters and I loved them all.
- I thought I knew who the bad guy was. I WAS WRONG.
- The Colson found family.
- Lolli and her dickflowers. I loved the comedic relief.
- Amazing banter.
- A wonderful doggo.
- The cover. I say this about every one of her books but they are just SO GORGEOUS.
- Longer than her other books. I’m so glad because I didn’t want it to end.
Dislikes:
- My only dislike is that I have to wait for the next! (In other words, NO DISLIKES)
The Narration:
Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber should tell you enough—these two are always fantastic. But they both outdid themselves on Fragile Sanctuary and brought the story to life, possibly making it even better to listen to than read.
The Down & Dirty:
Rating: 5 Stars, 3.75 Heat, 5 Narration
