Top Books of Summer 2013

09/02/2013

Top picks of summer 2013

My favorite books read in Summer, 2013

I’ve had a crazy summer, and read way less than usual. But there have been some AMAZING books I have read this summer!

Summer for me is Memorial-Labor Day. (June 1-Aug 31)

7 Books had a 5 star or even 5+++ star rating.

Edible Ella FrankEdible (Exquisite 3) by Ella Frank: Filled with memorable banter, sexual tension, hot scenes and characters you love, plus some delicious surprises, this book can stand alone, but I highly recommend you read the series. See the Exquisite Series Order (I loved them all!)

Wethering The Storm by Samantha Towle: The conuation of one of my favorite books from 2012, The Mighty Storm. This one was even better than the first. I highly recommend you read them together and not wait in between.

41y-NcaPQcL._SL160_Left Drowning by Jessica Park: I laughed, I cried, I swooned. Left Drowning just had everything I love in a book. The characters were awesome and I fell for each of them, there was love, angst, heartbreak, tragedy, a group of friends I wanted to hang out with, fun times, giggles, great sex, a swoonworthy hero, and healing.

51yjDYAWSzL._SL160_This Girl by Colleen Hoover: All three books in the Slammed Series have been 5+++ stars to me. Slammed, Point of Retreat and This Girl were all amazing, stand out books for life. I was surprised I enjoyed the third one just as much, if not more than the first 2. See the Slammed Series Order (with purchase and review links)

51C1sZDF-gL._SL160_Rock Chick Revenge by Kristen Ashley: The 5th in the Rock Chick series, this book was my favorite so far. I love every book this woman writes, but I am taking my own sweet time with this series. I just love knowing I still have 3 more to look forward to! I absolutely loved reading every single second of this book, to the point it made me giddy, while reading it. Luke and Ava were just awesome.

51vtBnRZMLL._SL160_Bad Things by R.K. Lilley: A spin-off of the Up In The Air series by RK Lilley. Bad Things stands on it’s own and can, and may be even better if you read it before that series. Tristan is completely swoonalicious, and there was angst, excruciating heartbreak, jealousy, protectiveness, love, great sex, and that question that lingers….are they good or bad for each other?  See my character interview and review here

51sKHbMKziL._SL160_Watch Over Me by Tara Sivec: Unique and beautiful. This story is so real, so gutting, so genuine, this came from deep within. It almost feels like we are reading private journals, it’s so blindingly honest. Yes, it is a tearjerker at times, but you will feel hope. After all, this book is about healing and moving on.
