On A Night Like This by Liz Maverick is the third installment of a cute Audible exclusive Hannukah novella series. This is the third year, and I think it’s my favorite. To be honest, I can’t say for sure, because I don’t really remember the first two books, I am just relying on my reviews for Eight Winter Nights and Bright Winter Lights. I say this because On A Night Like This stood perfectly well on its own.

Cher and her long-term boyfriend just broke up, and heartbroken, she signs up to swap her cute California apartment with a guy in New York for a month in December. Only the apartment wasn’t exactly what she was expecting. Luckily, she bumps into her awesome neighbor, Eliot, who helps her out, and they hit it off immediately.

When Cher’s drab NYC apartment is sorely lacking in Hanukkah spirit, Eliot calls on all his friends (whom we met in previous books) to help. I loved that Cher fit in immediately with this group, and I enjoyed all of the NYC sights that Eliot took her to see.

On A Night Like This was sweet, light, fluffy insta-love with a Friends vibe. Next year I plan to relisten to the first three before she releases the next book because I really like this group of friends.

The Narration:

Dara Rosenberg always does Jewish heroines well. Andrew Eiden is Teddy Hamilton’s good boy name. I loved his narration, as always.

The Down & Dirty:

On a Night Like This is another light and fluffy instalove Hanukkah book. I really like this New York City Jewish friend group, and I look forward to bingeing the whole series again next Hanukkah, hopefully with a new addition.
