Holiday Erotic Romance Short Story/novella

I actually purchased Snow and Mistletoe by Alexa Riley over the holidays, because I love myself some short, hot, cheesy Christmas novels. But I never got to it before Christmas, and that’s usually when I like my holiday books. But this was also a bonus book in PS…You’re Mine, so I read them together.

Warning: This is the sweetest, cheesiest, most Christmassy book ever! It’s filled with late-night confessions, dirty deeds, and a lifetime of love. If you love this time of year, I’ve got some cheer for you!

At least they warn you up front! Yes. Snow and Mistletoe is short, sweet and cheesy. But I enjoyed the story. Christmas stories can get away with more of the cheese factor.

Noelle is an audiobook reader and Alex publishes them. He falls so deeply, and is so turned on by her voice that the gives her enough work so her voice can only be used by him. They never talk about personal things, but he always has her read the dirtiest parts to “try out” while he is out of breath (but she doesn’t know why) on the other side of the phone. Noelle has crushed on Alex for the last year as well, even though her is her boss.

I know I might be crazy, but the thought of not having my daily calls with Alex is shattering. They’re something I’m not ready to let go of, even if my obsession has gotten a bit unhealthy.

They have never met in person. Alex is a recluse who was scarred in an accident 10 years prior. But on Christmas Eve, Noelle decides to go to her mysterious boss’s address 3 hours away in a snowstorm when her modem breaks and she can’t reach him by phone. It’s awkward at first…but then it isn’t when they basically hump each other to keep warm lol.

As soon as they start doing it, Alex is ready to breed.

“Maybe I could chain her to me. Leave something of me inside her so she’ll never be free of me.”

Once again the use of cum and cumming instead of come really took away from the book for me and made it go from sweet to just dirty.

Likes:

I really liked the sweet storyline.
I liked both characters.
Made me smile.
Cheesy is OK for the holidays.
Good epilogue.
The gift was phenomenal.

Dislikes:

Cum and cumming instead of come and coming.
Would have liked it slowed down just a bit. It was just a bit too quick.

The Down and Dirty:

Snow and Mistletoe is just what it was warned to be, sweet and cheesy, but that’s OK in Christmas books. It just moved so fast it was breakneck speed. I could have had a few more pages of the couple actually speaking rather than reading or fucking. But again, just like in PS…I Love You, the use of the word cum as a verb really ruined the whole feel of the book to me.
