I read Ardor by Elena M. Reyes at the request of the author. The blurb sounded great, and it seemed like a sexy break between books, just as I was looking for a novella. Ardor is about 100 pages, told from the male POV.
Greg is the manager of a BJs (hehe). He has been screwed over royally by his ex-wife, the she-bitch from hell, and he doesn’t trust himself or any other women. She ruined him. He has, however, had the hots for his spicy latin employee, Jasmine, for quite some time. She makes it clear she wants him as well, but he just can’t trust again.
“She made my mouth water and my cock harden with just that first handshake”
Greg fights with himself non-stop, challenging himself not to look at her. He won’t give in to himself, but when another guy comes near her, he freaks out.
“No one will ever touch you. Do you understand me?”
Jasmine can’t wait forever. She knows the connection is intense. She wants him over anyone else, but she isn’t going to live like a nun. So when Jasmine is about to go on a date with another man, Greg realizes he has to stop it.
“Didn’t she see how the thought of her with another man killed me?”
He begs her not to go, but can’t give her anything more. He’s just not ready.
“He will never be me. I’m the one you want. Give me time…wait for me.”
But she isn’t going to wait forever. Then again, if she knew what was in his head, she would. Greg is one hot Dom, and every times she calls her boss “sir” it just makes him want her more. Until he finally breaks, and can’t hold back any more, and plans a night in BJs alone with Jasmine.
“The fact that you take charge, the demanding tone you use, and how it makes me want to bend to your will. It makes me so wet for you—”
“Then let’s not waste any more time. Do you trust me to continue, Jasmine? Do you want to play?“
“My sweet Jasmine, for today I’ve decided that we’re going to play a game. I’ve always wondered how many licks from that sweet tongue of yours it would take for me to erupt; today, baby, we find out.”
Holy crap, the things that happen in BJs…let’s just say, that’s a good name for the store, and more! I will never walk into a warehouse store again without thinking of this book. And I’m not sure I’d go without a little sanitizer!
Likes:
- Interesting to read a book in a large warehouse store setting
- I love a hot Dom
- Kinky food sex? In a public place? Yes please.
- Holy conveyer belt, Batman!
- An ethnic heroine.
- Reading the male POV the whole time.
- Short, sexy quickie!
Dislikes:
- I had some trouble connecting.
- There were some overused words and expressions (minx and vixen!)
Rating: Solid 3.5 stars (novella) 5 stars Heat

This was one hot, kinky book! It was a quick read, and if you are into a commanding guy and kinky sex in interesting places, this is a book for you! It was a nice, sexy bedtime story. Not only is there hot sex, there was definitely a romantic, sweet love story as well. I enjoyed the story, and will read more from the author.
“You notice all that?” she asked in disbelief. “I see you, baby, and that includes every single part.”
