Review: Ardor by Elena M. Reyes with Giveaway

08/21/2013

Ardor by Elena M. ReyesI read Ardor by Elena M. Reyes at the request of the author. The blurb sounded great, and it seemed like a sexy break between books, just as I was looking for a novella. Ardor is about 100 pages, told from the male POV.

Greg is the manager of a BJs (hehe). He has been screwed over royally by his ex-wife, the she-bitch from hell, and he doesn’t trust himself or any other women. She ruined him. He has, however, had the hots for his spicy latin employee, Jasmine, for quite some time. She makes it clear she wants him as well, but he just can’t trust again.

“She made my mouth water and my cock harden with just that first handshake”

Greg fights with himself non-stop, challenging himself not to look at her. He won’t give in to himself, but when another guy comes near her, he freaks out.

“No one will ever touch you. Do you understand me?”

Jasmine can’t wait forever. She knows the connection is intense. She wants him over anyone else, but she isn’t going to live like a nun. So when Jasmine is about to go on a date with another man, Greg realizes he has to stop it.

“Didn’t she see how the thought of her with another man killed me?”

He begs her not to go, but can’t give her anything more. He’s just not ready.

“He will never be me. I’m the one you want. Give me time…wait for me.”

But she isn’t going to wait forever. Then again, if she knew what was in his head, she would. Greg is one hot Dom, and every times she calls her boss “sir” it just makes him want her more. Until he finally breaks, and can’t hold back any more, and plans a night in BJs alone with Jasmine.

“The fact that you take charge, the demanding tone you use, and how it makes me want to bend to your will. It makes me so wet for you—”

“Then let’s not waste any more time. Do you trust me to continue, Jasmine? Do you want to play?“

“My sweet Jasmine, for today I’ve decided that we’re going to play a game. I’ve always wondered how many licks from that sweet tongue of yours it would take for me to erupt; today, baby, we find out.”

Holy crap, the things that happen in BJs…let’s just say, that’s a good name for the store, and more! I will never walk into a warehouse store again without thinking of this book. And I’m not sure I’d go without a little sanitizer!

Likes:

  • Interesting to read a book in a large warehouse store setting
  • I love a hot Dom
  • Kinky food sex? In a public place? Yes please.
  • Holy conveyer belt, Batman!
  • An ethnic heroine.
  • Reading the male POV the whole time.
  • Short, sexy quickie!

Dislikes:

  • I had some trouble connecting.
  • There were some overused words and expressions (minx and vixen!)

Rating: Solid 3.5 stars (novella) 5 stars Heat

Flame_FIVE

This was one hot, kinky book! It was a quick read, and if you are into a commanding guy and kinky sex in interesting places, this is a book for you! It was a nice, sexy bedtime story. Not only is there hot sex, there was definitely a romantic, sweet love story as well. I enjoyed the story, and will read more from the author.

“You notice all that?” she asked in disbelief. “I see you, baby, and that includes every single part.”

Heuston plays Noah, an F1 driver in a forbidden romance with his rival teammate’s sister (casting is not announced for Maya yet). If you don’t know this, F1 romance books are my specialty and I have a list of well over 300 F1 romance books on my blog. I’m so excited that people will start discovering what I already know! If you check my link in bio you can see the whole list. Who else is excited? Will you be watching?

As gorgeous as the Just For The Plot paperbacks ar As gorgeous as the Just For The Plot paperbacks are, don’t let that stop you from listening to the amazing full cast audiobook! Once again, Meghan Quinn hit it out of the park (see what I did there?) with Just for the Plot. After reading around fifty of her books since 2015, she still manages to surprise me, and her storytelling never gets old. Her signature blend of feel-good romance, immature humor, unforgettable friendships, lovable characters, and perfectly delivered spice never fails to entertain me. While I do think Just for the Plot is even better if you’ve read Just for the Cameras first, don’t let that stop you from picking this one up. You don’t want to miss this ridiculously fun, sexy, and swoony @meghanquinnbooks romance. My full review is on the blog.

There she crosses paths with Stewart Whitfield, the handsome heir to one of the town’s wealthiest families, who happens to be dealing with a very public breakup. A fake-dating arrangement follows, and we all know how well those tend to stay fake. 😏I haven’t read Dolly All the Time yet, but apparently I need to fix that before this hits the big screen!Have you read it? I can’t believe we’ve reached the end of the Mount I can’t believe we’ve reached the end of the Mountain Men Matchmaker series! 🥹❤️Bad Boy Era finally gives Everly, the family matchmaker who helped everyone else find their HEA, a love story of her own. And of course it’s with a tattooed, brooding, grumpy Irish rugby player who has secretly had his eye on her for years.I loved being back on Fletcher Mountain with all of the couples, the crazy overprotective uncles, the animals, and so many laugh-out-loud moments. Conri turning into a dragon daddy and his relationship with little Stevie were probably my favorite parts. 😂🎧 And if you’re an audiobook reader, LISTEN to this one! Connor Crais’s Irish accent is amazing, and Erin Mallon, Teddy Hamilton, and Emma Wilder round out a fantastic cast.I’m sad to say goodbye to Fletcher Mountain, but looking at this whole series together makes me want to start all over again. ❤️You can find my full review on the blog. This had all the sexy Hallmark movie vibes, but with the emotion and heat I expect from Vi Keeland.I loved Allegra’s journey, I fell hard for Matteo, and somehow Nonna managed to steal the show without ever actually being in the story.🎧 I listened to the audiobook narrated in duet by Connor Crais and Andi Arndt, and they were phenomenal. I’m case you missed it, Sky’s Edge by @kristenashl I’m case you missed it, Sky’s Edge by @kristenashleybooks is live!!! I am loving it so much! I don’t read a lot of books with my eyes anymore, and I was 50% into the arc yesterday when it released. I planned to finish with the audiobook, but just noticed it’s delayed until 9/22. I can’t put it down I’m loving it so much! My review of the book (not audiobook) should be up this weekend. This is such a fun and unique fantasy series. It takes place in the future, so they have lots of future tech, but they still have the old fashioned man/women societal roles. It features 4 best friends, and I assume they each get their own book in the Four Realms series. Though they each feature a different couple, you need to read in order for the world building. Honestly, this series is fun and unique, and I love how Kristen can take a fantasy and make it so uniquely Kristen Ashley. Sky’s Edge is the second book in the Four Realms Series. I don’t think you have to be into reading fantasy to love this. Book recommendation • romance books • romantasy books • Kristen Ashley
