“Have you ever met someone who you immediately knew could change your life? I’ve heard about this happening, but I never experienced anything near it until tonight. Tonight I met him. I don’t know this man’s name, nor does he know mine, but I still feel the impact of our brief meeting deep inside”
Rebecca’s Lost Journals are are a companion to Lisa Renee Jones’s Inside Out Series (See the reading order here). I must say…what a friggin’ great idea! If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones was one of the best books I read last year. (See my Best of 2012 here and my review of If I Were You here). There was hot sex, mystery, suspense, sexual tension throughout the whole book, it consumed you and it left you with a ton of unanswered questions.
In If I Were You, a young woman, Sara, gets hold of some erotic journals and becomes immersed in a story of a woman named Rebecca, who becomes involved with a powerful Dom, and is now missing. These are the journals that are missing, that Sara never found. Lisa Renee Jones has woven clues throughout these journals, so reading the 4 that come out before Being Me will be a lot of fun. I would love for you all to come back to this post after you read this and lets talk clues. What do you think the clues were? Let me elaborate a little….
This 40 page novella is Rebecca’s journal, and is written like one. It covers her first foray into the gallery and her first meeting with the sexy, controlling Mark Compton, she also meets the gorgeous Chris Merit, Ava from the coffee shop, and Ricco. We also meet her hot banker friend Josh who loves to lick…everywhere.
Then the journals skip a little….and “He” is there.
“He, who wants to be known simply as “Master,” has swept into my world and torn away walls I never knew existed, and that I’m not sure I want torn down. He says he will control me, command my body, and show me pleasure like I’ve never known. He will show me trust that is the greatest bond two people can share. He will fuck me senseless, and then do it again and again until I know nothing but him”
We don’t know who “He” is, that’s the whole mystery….you don’t expect to find out so soon do you? I’d love to tell you a little more, but since it is so short, I’ll let you guys read it for yourself.

Rebecca and Sara do have a lot in common. Both working at jobs that wasn’t their first choice.
Both drawn to Allure and it becoming a dream job to both!
Both drawn to men who need to be in control, Rebecca/Mark, Sara/Chris.
Rebecca compelled to write in her journals an Sara consumed by the journals.
Whew, it’s going to be a journey with the up coming journal entries.

I will watch for your clues:) Who is He/The Master???? He can’t be the obvious choice, can he? I LOVED If I Were You. The cliffhanger was frustrating knowing that it would be months before I would have more. I thought I knew “HE” would turn out to be but Rebecca’s first journal changed my mind. This is absolutely the most clever and unique series I have read. I absolutely love a good romance but to throw in multiple strong/powerful/gorgeous men, a mysterious BDSM relationship and maintain the suspense, I am impressed!! I am very impatiently looking forward to the second journal and Being Me. I think Lisa Renee Jones is a genius!

I bought it read the first four pages and returned it, which is rare for me to do. But you’re comments intrigued me. I read If I Were You first… Okay, I’m buying it again. I’ll let you know what I think when I’m done.
