Hot Cop by Laurelin Paige and Sierra Simone
Standalone Sexy Romantic Comedy
I’m so excited to get Hot Cop signed by both Laurelin Paige and Sierra Simone at Wicked Book Weekend 2018! Knowing that these two are known for HOT books, and looking at that cover, there is no way I wasn’t grabbing this, and I’m glad I did!
Livia Ward is freaked out. She is 29, and going to be 30 (almost dead!) with no baby (this was a bit over the top, but I’ll go with it). She has always dreamed of becoming a mother, but she has sworn off men. The thing is, she hasn’t sworn off love, and she very much wants a baby of her own to shower with all the love in her heart.
Picking a donor from a sperm bank seems so impersonal! How do you choose from just a list of stats? But when Livia’s co-worker’s brother comes to the library they work at while he is babysitting her kids, another idea starts to percolate.
“Megan, you never told me your brother was a hot.”
Oh my God. I didn’t just say that.
But I totally did. My face is heated with embarrassment. “A cop! I meant a cop.”
I mean he has everything a woman could want in her baby daddy. He is hot as hell, a perfect specimen, in fact, he is also smart, alpha, and a truly good guy.
Officer Chase is aka “Officer Good Times” with a job like his, he doesn’t want to take the filth he sees on a daily basis home to a family, so he has committed to happily being single for the rest of his life. He has specialized in the ‘Kelly Trio’ (Dinner, Drinks and Handcuffs) and he is perfectly content to continue to do that.
But when the sexy librarian agrees to have sex with him in exchange for his baby juice (instead of him making a ‘deposit’ at a local bank for her), who is he to say no? She wants him to sign away all rights to a future baby, and that is perfect for him. After all, there my be a few mini- Kelly’s running around that he doesn’t know about.
But when they get together, holy hell, they are hot from the start.
“He feasts on me , and I feast on him. His lips devour every sweep of my tongue. His teeth are playful and nip at my jaw. His beard is rough and coarse and will leave burn marks with swollen lips, but I don’t care. I want it all. I’ll take it all. ”
He is such an amazing dirty talker! To tell you the truth, I think his talking was as hot as the sex, if not more!
You have the right to use my body to give yourself a delirious, life-changing orgasm.” He bends in close to my ear and whispers. “If you have trouble… don’t worry, I’m a bit of an expert in that department.”
So for the first third of the book, I was sure this would be the hottest book I read all year, because let me tell you, the build up was H-O-T. And though I usually don’t like an overabundance of sex in my books, I was surprised to find that it was a little bit of a tease! There were a lot more fade-to-black scenes than I expected. But don’t let that discourage you, because believe me, there was plenty of hot sex too. But the important thing is, they are NOT supposed to develop any feelings!
“I’m a means to an end to her. An eight-inch syringe attached to an admittedly great body. She just wants me to be ‘Officer Good times,’ Mr Officer Blue Eyes, not the kind of guy who gets attached. Not the guy who can’t stop wanting her.”
Well sometimes hot sex can turn into so much more.
“You’re mine, princess. You were mine the moment you let me feel your bare pussy in that restaurant. You were mine the moment you let me kiss you so dirty outside of it. And you were definitely mine when you came around my cock and hoped I’d put a baby inside you.”
Likes:
- Very well written.
- Fast paced.
- Laugh-out-loud moments.
- Had a lot more emotion in the end than I expected.
- I wanted to hug my kindle at the end.
- So freaking HOT!
Dislikes:
- Her whole ‘dying because I’m gonna be 30′ pissed me off.
- Some of the sex stuff was a bit of a tease.
- Sometimes it was a bit cheesy, but I think it was meant to be.
The Down & Dirty:
Damn, Laurelin and Sierra make a great team for writing breathlessly sexy men and smart, feisty heroines. Hot Cop was not only one of the hottest books I have read so far this year, but I may have shed a few sappy emotional tears at the end when I realized it was more than just a sexy read, but a heartwarming, fun and sexy romance. The complete package.
