I was so surprised to open my Goodreads and see that How to Lose a Guy Before Christmas by AJ Pine wasn’t rated higher. It was the perfect sexy Hallmark Christmas movie type of read.
When Lucy’s flight home to Minnesota for Christmas was canceled due to a snowstorm, she signed up for a rideshare, but the person who showed up was none other than the guy she ghosted after a one-night stand over Thanksgiving.
If that wasn’t awkward enough, the car broke down and they ended up stuck in the town of Tinsel, where they celebrate Christmas all year long because so many movies film there. The town is filled with a bunch of horny old characters, and I thought they were so much fun!
This was my first Christmas listen of the year and so worth it! I thought it was adorable. I’m not usually a big fan of third person, but since it was dual POV, I barely noticed. I didn’t expect to enjoy this one as much as I did, and I think it was the perfect light and cheesy holiday listen.
The one thing I don’t get is the title. It doesn’t fit the story at all, but the cover does and it’s adorable!
Andi Arndt was great and got to use a little of her accent work which I love, and Jason Clarke, is as always, sexy AF. I loved the narration. Note: I noticed a lot of people down on Jason for the narration, and I almost wonder if maybe they aren’t usually romance listeners or something.
