Forever Pucked by Helena Hunting
Romantic Erotic Comedy. Does NOT Stand Alone. Series order below.
Pucked by Helena Hunting was one of my Top Favorite Books of 2015. So when I heard we were getting another Violet and Alex book, Forever Pucked, I did a happy dance. I thought it would be a cute wedding novella. Nope, it’s FULL LENGTH. Yippee!
Violet is working hard in her accounting position and is very proud of her work. She makes really good money, but it’s a drop in the bucket compared to Alex. Alex is away so much, he wants all the Violet time he can get, and he resents her working a little. Add to that, Violet still hasn’t chosen a date for the wedding, and due to a past wedding mishap, she breaks out in hives whenever she starts to plan it. Things aren’t perfect, but they are working through it.
There is a LOT of sex in this book. Super MC and the Beave are at it a lot, but they sometimes got too much for me (what??? I love it dirty!) I don’t know, all the “super cock” and “beaver buttons” got a little old to me and the sex scenes were more stupidly silly than sexy.
“He fits himself between my legs, his monster erection making contact with the Land of Beave. So of course I moan, because what other sound is there that adequately expresses my love for him and his super special penis?”
But there is a whole lot of love between Alex and Violet. And though she was freaked about the wedding itself, Violet was not freaked about becoming Mrs. Waters.
āItās amazing how a poorly thought-out one-night stand can turn into a forever kind of love. Because thatās exactly what Alex is: my forever ā
Then something serious and scary happens. Though this is a funny, sexy book, there is a lot of serious content as well.
āLife isnāt all roses and unicorn farts made of glitter and Chanel No. 5. There are as many downs as there are ups. I need to learn how to manage them.ā
It was great visiting with the other Pucked series characters, and I really wish we would get a Lance story!
Violet has no doubt she wants to marry Alex, even though she breaks out in hivesĀ fromĀ the meddling moms making things so much worse. Though I thought they were totally hysterical.
“Please do not tell Daisy that pineapple makes jazz taste better. It doesn’t.”
Alex is still the sex god, despite being a little ‘off’ in this book (no spoilers), and I loved how he still wanted to take care of Violet instead of being a whiny brat, and I love how in love the couple is.
“One day Iāll want to have Alexās pretty little hockey babies, but thatās years away. First we have to tie the noose. I need to be his ball and chain for a minimum of three years before his super sperm start doing the job nature intended.”
Likes:
- I love Violet’s over the top sense of humor!
- Alex is swoony, though he pissed me off in the beginning.
- Seeing all the characters from the rest of the series.
- There were some serious moments.
- The moms were hysterical together.
- Amazing epilogue.
Dislikes:
- It was a little too over the top.
- OMG, I got tired of the word beaver! 133 times is pushing it.
- It felt a little like it was dragged out to make it a full length book.
- The very numerous sex scenes were all so silly that they weren’t quite as hot as they should be. Violet’s over the top personality Ā took over the scenes.
The Down & Dirty:
Rating: 4 stars, 4.75 Heat
