Bare Your Soul by Rochelle Paige
Standalone Adult Contemporary/Erotic Novella
What a satisfying read! I don’t read a lot of novellas, because if I’m totally in love with a story, it will always feel too short, rushed, or missing something. But Bare Your Soul by Rochelle Paige had almost every element I love in a book wrapped up in a super hot one-sitting afternoon escape.
Angelica is desperate. Her father abandoned her mom and her when her mom was diagnosed with cancer. After years of taking care of her mother before she passed away Angelica is broke and needs enough money to live and pay for college. She needed to make good money, so when she finds a high end strip club, she does a little research and decides to audition.
Morgan Cadwell owns the strip club and many other businesses in the area. As soon as he sees Angelica about to try out, he breaks all of his own rules. He can’t imagine this beautiful innocent girl taking off her clothes for other men. He wanted her all to himself as soon as he laid eyes on her.
So he hires her as his live-in personal assistant instead. Their chemistry was off the charts, but Morgan wouldn’t rush her into anything. He wanted to make sure she was 100% ready for him, because once she was his, he was never letting go.
“Oh, the things I want to do to you definitely border on illegal. But I’ll wait until you’re begging me for them.”
Not only did this novella have a super hot storyline, it also had some suspense and danger thrown in. Seriously everything I love in a book. Honestly, it was a little cheesy and formulaic, but that was OK, it’s what made it so satisfying to read. It had an uber-alpha dirty-talking male, a likable female virgin, insta-lust/love, danger and excitement and lots of super hot sex. All wrapped up in a nice quick bow.
- Hot sex. (Lots of it!)
- Very satisfying novella that didn’t feel too rushed.
- Totally hot, dirty talking alpha.
- Danger and excitement.
- Likable characters.
- He waited till she was ready.
- Read it in one sitting (well, I took a little ‘break’ with Mr. Ana).
- Could have been a little more unique.
- With his dominant behavior and a few things he hinted at, I was hoping for the sex to get a little less vanilla. It was super hot vanilla sex, but still vanilla.
Rating: 4.5 stars for a novella, 4.5 Heat (lots of sex, but pretty vanilla)
