No Pants Required by Kim Karr
Standalone Contemporary romance/romcom
I actually read No Pants Required by Kim Karr a few weeks ago. I sucked it up so fast that I forgot to review it! It really is like a delicious shake to suck up on a hot summer day. Filled with fun characters, laughter, dirty talking, banter, hot sex, friendship and love, it was a great light beach read.
Makayla and her fiancé just broke up, so she decides to take her jewelry design business from NY, and move out to live with her BFF in Laguna Beach CA to start over. Makayla is a bit buttoned up, so her best friend gives her a list of ten things to do to loosen up. Things like: wear a bikini, have sex with a stranger, join the mile high club, read a dirty book in public, take a nude selfie, get a vibrator and more.
āNew start.
New life.
New me.
California, here I come.ā
Camden Waters is Makayla’s sexy seatmate on the flight to California. Makayla is bit of a nervous flyer, and Camden’s fun flirtation and double entendres are a great distraction for Makayla.
“I’m sorry you choked on my nuts, but you might want to work on your gag reflex.”
Checking off her list, Makayla bought an erotic novel in the airport. When her seatmate sees it, they begin reading it to each other, and holy cow, it got hot fast. Maybe she can check sex with a stranger and join the mile high club off ofĀ her list as well!
āFor what I have in mind, there are no pants required. ā
Turns out the guy she thought she would never see again is her new next door neighbor, and works as a lifeguard with Makayla’s best friend and roommate. Even though they started out all hot and heavy, they really took some time to get back together and get something going. But the flirtation and longing and “book club” readings continued until it just became enough.
“So here’s how this is going to go. First, I’m going to taste your sweet pussy and eat you like you are my last meal, and then I’m going to fuck you like you’ve never been fucked.”
I really enjoyed that the couple had a lot of amazing sex, but the friendship, support and banter is what really stuck with me in this story.

- The story within the story concept.
Dislikes:Ā
- Slowed down a bit in the last ā of the book.
- I didn’t like Summer’s Menage! I would have liked a better story within the story.
- Some strange over introductions of minor characters. I think they are either setups for future books or throwbacks to past books I haven’t read.
