Good Time by Jana Aston
Narrated by Erin Mallon
Romantic Comedy. Standalone in a Related Series
I ‘legiterally’ had such a GOOD TIME listening to this that I am already trying to see when I can fit in listening again, because this is a book I have to repeat when I need a silly, giggly, fun time. I absolutely LOVED Good Girl by Jana Aston, and I loved GOOD TIME even more.
âHe looks like just my type. Tall, dark, handsome and hung.â
Payton is the crazy best friend. You know how the virgin always has the kinda wild and slutty friend? Well, thatâs Payton, but she is a crazy hot mess and she is ‘legiterally’ hysterical. Then there is Vince.
“Vince is delicious. Vince is every inappropriate fantasy Iâve ever had wrapped up into one perfect package.”
They are complete opposites, but one drunken Vegas night and you know what happens to drunk people in Vegas!
They were complete opposites attract, but I love how he loved her crazy. He was completely entertained by her when you think heâd be appalled.
âWe could make out behind that pinball machine.â
âI donât think that would work.â
âWhy not?â
âBecause the pinball machine is not an invisibility cloak and public fornication is illegal in Las Vegas.â
âOh, my God. Youâre a dirty talker! This is so much more than I deserve. Say fornication again.âÂ
And even though we didnât really get much of Vinceâs POV, I loved him.
âIâm not sure that you understand the concept of negotiating.â
âFine. What do I have that you want?â
âEverything.âÂ
I will definitely say this book isnât for everyone. There will be the haters that say âWTF did I just read? That chick is bonkers!â YES! I feel the same but in a GOOD way! If you arenât a fan of the over-the-top crazy and fun girl, maybe this isnât for you. But if you like to laugh and you like the crazy, Good Time by Jana Aston is a MUST READ.
Likes:
- I laughed out loud so many times!
- Paytonâs complete lack of filter.
- She wasnât a virgin and was just fine with casual sex.
- They were such opposites, but they totally worked.
- I loved every side character, and I hope we get a few of their stories.
- Her stream of consciousness style of writing.
- The way the 3rd wall is knocked down and she speaks directly to the reader.
- The epilogue.
Dislikes:
- The first half was a bit slower than the second because we were mostly in her head.
- I wish we had a bit more of Vinceâs POV while reading, but in the end, it all worked out.
The Narration:
Erin Mallon was perfect for this. Her comedic timing was spot-on and she did crazy so well! Plus I absolutely LOVE her male voice more than most male narrators. I think that the narration made it even funnier than just reading would have.
The Down & Dirty:
A note on the rating: The first half was 4 stars. The second half was probably close to 4.5-5. But the epilogue is what made this finally get a 5-star rating from me.
Rating: 5 Stars, 4.5 Heat, 5 Narration
