Holy Moly! Wild by Adriane Leigh one HOT read! I mean make sure you have BOB or your man around because Lane Wild is one panty-melting dirty talker! This is my first book by Adriane Leigh, but it will not be my last, that’s for sure. I read some of the scenes out loud to my husband, and lets just say….he liked them too. This will definitely be one of the books we have readings from at Wicked Book Weekend.

Kat is running from her past and rents a cottage on the coast in Maine. One night she pops into the local pub for a drink (or several), and hooks up with Lane Wild for a very hot one night stand. Kat doesn’t want commitment, and nether does Lane. In fact, they don’t even get each other’s names. Rock Island, Maine, however, is a small town, and they can’t help but run into each other often. Kat wants to keep to herself, but Wild is hard to resist.

“God, why did he have to be so arrogant and sexy? I hated arrogant and sexy. It was fucking irresistible.”

The banter between them is HOT, and and that’s just the beginning. Kat wanted a one night stand, no more, but Lane wanted her back in his bed, big time. Kat pretends she barely remembers.

“The way you’re fidgeting tells me you remember just fine,” he growled as a hand slid up around my neck, his thumb dusting along my jaw.
I refused to look at him–refused to make eye contact. “I don’t”.
“If you say so. But your pussy says otherwise,” he murmured, his lips whispering across my neck. “I know you’re wet right now.”

Between all the fuckhot banter, and the trading of barbs, Lane and Kat develop a friendship, albeit a friendship with a LOT of sex.

“I mean when a man wants a woman like I want you, there’s no ‘friends’ about it. Tell yourself whatever you want, but men and women can’t be friends after they’ve fucked. Or if they want to fuck.”

As they get closer, Lane wants more.

“I’m not yours. I’m not anyone’s. Get that straight. You want to fuck, Lane. We can fuck. But that’s all you’re getting.”

But Lane won’t accept that.

“Say you’ll stay. You like me to fuck you like this then you’re staying, baby. You want this every night, then you’re staying. You’re not taking what I have to give and walking away. I won’t let other pricks think they have a chance with you, because they fucking don’t. Only I can fuck you like you like it, baby. Like your cunt likes it. Hard and deep and fast. My girl likes it rough. This pussy likes it rough. No one can fuck you like I can.”

Despite the hot sex and real friendship they develop, there are still secrets, lots of them, between the couple. Though the first 60% of the book is really hot sex, the last 40% gets more interesting, and the last 20% is downright can’t-put-it-down exciting. It almost felt like two different books, the first half was so hot and sexy, and the last third having little sex and lots of action, but I must say, I really enjoyed both.

Likes:

  • Holy hot sex!
  • Lane Wild can dirty talk me any time!
  • Hot flirty banter, my favorite.
  • A hint of a m-f-f scene.
  • A big twist and exciting finish.
  • A great epilogue.
  • Set-up for future books. I bet Ridge is just as hot as Lane.
  • Told in alternating first person POV, but way more from Lane.

Dislikes:

  • It was a little short, I felt that the end happened too quickly, I would have liked to see the aftermath, and have Lane and Kat resume the hot sex!
  • There was almost too much sex at the beginning compared to the end, I would have liked it spread (heehee I said spread) throughout the story a bit more. (This is not really much of a dislike.)

Sometimes you just need a good, hard one, you know? Wild by Adriane Leigh is perfect for that. It was totally hot, with enough storyline to keep me interested, and enough sex to make my husband very happy (and me too). It was filled with 3 of my favorite things, banter, dirty talk and suspense. I can’t wait for the next in the series, Ridge. I will be looking at more books from Adriane Leigh and I can’t wait to meet her this March in Ft. Lauderdale at Wicked Book Weekend!
