‘Til Death by Bella Jewel
Slightly Dark Erotic Romance. Part 1 of a 2 Part Series.
They say there’s a fine line between love and hate.
I married a douchebag.
I didn’t know it at the time.
He came in like a handsome stranger and blew me off my feet.
I fell madly in love, like the naive girl I am.
Then he left me high and dry.
Turns out, I was nothing more than a business plan for billionaire playboy, Marcus Tandem.
He needed to be married in order to obtain his grandfathers business, and I was the poor victim in his path.
I believed in what we had, until the truth reared its ugly head.
I never meant anything to Marcus. Not a damned thing.
With my world spinning on its axis, the girl I once was has long since died.
Instead he left me as this empty, emotionless shell.
I may have made a vow before God to love and cherish him ‘Til Death do we part, but it’s time for me to give back to Marcus, exactly what he gave me.
He has to pay.
And pay he will.
*This is part of a two book series and it will contain a HEA – Readers over 18+
I signed up for this Release blitz a while ago, because I have never read Bella Jewel (despite buying like 5 of her books, I haven’t read them yet), and the cover was so friggen hot. At that time I read a really different synopsis, and decided it looked like a must-read for me. Unfortunately it was a while back, but the blurb has changed, a lot, and I think maybe at the time I signed up it was only supposed to be one book. Well it is a 2 part book, and a HEA is promised…but ‘Til Death left me hanging. I must say though, it ended at a good spot, and the wait may work in the storyline, provided Bella releases part 2 soon. She says to look for it right after the holidays.
Though you pretty much know the gist of the story right from the blurb and prologue, ‘Til Death was still an unputdownable read that I read in two sittings. Those of you who have read Bella’s MC books may recognize Marcus from Anguish, but this is not an MC book, despite the guys from the club making cameos. ‘Til Death is told in alternating points of view, and alternating past and present. Despite a few bumps, it was easy to follow.
Marcus needs to marry within a year, and stay married for 2 years in order to inherit the company he has worked his ass off for his whole life. He is a player, and has no desire for a wife, but he has no choice.
Love isn’t for men like me. I don’t have the time or the interest. Love is for the weak. Women are too difficult and I’m too much of an asshole. I don’t hide this fact or pretend to be anything else.”
I loved Katia. She worked hard to take care of her disabled mom, and is barely making ends meet while working long hours. Yet she is always fun and chipper. She is also horny as hell and desperate to get laid.
Jack and Teddy, my vibrators, have well and truly deserved a break…Why can’t I have a super sexy boss who looks like he’s jumped straight out of heaven? One who takes me on helicopter rides and ties me to beds?
Damn you, Christian Grey for ruining all my future bosses. They’ll never compare…
“You do realize he’s not a real person, right?”
“Take that back,” I hiss. “He’s real to me, and to Jack, and to Teddy.”
On a rare night out with her best friend, Katia meets Marcus, and there is no beating around the bush (well, actually there was plenty! lol)
There are so many things I’ll do to you.”
“Starting with tasting those lips.”
Marcus knows Katia’s the one. He is very attracted to her, she’s beautiful, has a stable job but is struggling. It’s easy for him to rationalize in his head that he is ‘helping’ her by making her fall for him.
A man like Marcus is dangerous for me. He’ll destroy me. Crush me. Take my life in his hands and twist it until there’s nothing left but a pathetic, dangling string left.”
But Marcus is absolutely beautiful. Tattooed, big and muscled, sexy and controlling. He is a hard package to stay away from. Especially after getting a feel for that package (which is pierced 4 times!)
Do you want to come, Katia?”
“I didn’t come for a picnic, “I mutter.
His lip quirks and he leans down, pressing his lips to my ear. There, he whispers, “I very much came for a picnic, and the first thing I’m going to eat, precious, is you.”
Marcus is may be dangerous, but he’s generous. Katia’s struggles are over. Her mom has a new wheelchair, and Katia can’t help but be pulled into the man’s thrall despite the niggling doubts.
I love him in a way that’s toxic. I know it because no matter how much my heart screams that something isn’t right, I can’t stay away.”
Marcus always has a sure way of getting her to forgive him and forget her doubts though.
- Absolutely unputdownable.
- Total rollercoaster ride.
- You want to hate Marcus, but it’s hard, I totally get Katia.
- I loved Katia, and totally felt for her.
- Lots of little twists and turns, so even though you know a lot, you don’t expect so much more.
- Very hot sex. Marcus can make me forgive him too! 😛
- A fast read, but felt full.
- Getting both character’s points of view.
- Very unique story.
- Though there is a cliff, it ended at a spot that is story dictated.
- This was short, less than 200 pages, there is no reason this should be 2 parts unless part 2 is super long. Luckily it will be out right after the holidays, I just hope I remember it by then.
- The alternating points of view and times were a little choppy at first.
Can be a like or a dislike:
- If you have read Bella’s other books, you might know Marcus and the guys from the MC club, so you will love this. I haven’t read these books, and I felt like I missed a little ‘getting to know you’ on Marcus.
Rating: 4.25 stars, 4.5 Heat (As one book, I think this rating will be a lot higher. I think reading it straight through may lead to closer to 5 stars)
