Bad Boy Era by Amy Daws
Full cast duet narration by Erin Mallon and Conner Crais with Emma Wilder & Teddy Hamilton.
Book 4 in the Mountain Men Matchmaker Series. Can stand alone but I recommend reading in order.
Bad Boy Era is the final book in the Mountain Men Matchmaker series by Amy Daws, and we finally get Everly’s story! She’s the niece who matched all of the Fletcher men with the loves of their lives, so now it’s her turn for an HEA.
Everly just graduated college in Ireland and is moving back home to Fletcher Mountain. Her college roommate and best friend has a twin brother, Conri, a tattooed, brooding grump with a bad temper. European rugby teams don’t want to take a chance on him, so when he gets an opportunity to play in Denver, he also needs to do some positive PR to clean up his image.
Cue Everly.
She offers up her family’s mountain and animal rescue as the perfect place for Conri to stay and work on his reputation. He’s determined to stay away from Everly, the ultimate distraction, but when little Stevie starts following him around all day and he’s surrounded by cute animals, that hard shell begins to melt.
Conri may act like a grump and barely talk to Everly, but he’s actually been secretly watching (OK, stalking) her for years. Of course, he doesn’t think he’s worthy of her. But they’re stuck together on Fletcher Mountain for the whole summer, and he can’t avoid her forever.
All of Everly’s overprotective uncles made this one so much fun! There was also a lot more emotion than I expected as some real feelings came out. Everly has always been “too much,” but that’s exactly what Conri likes so much about her.
“It takes a lot of confidence to be so utterly yourself all the time. Don’t ever be less. You’re exactly enough.”
I loved that part of their relationship, and having all of Everly’s ridiculously overprotective uncles around made everything even more fun. There was plenty of Amy Daws’ silly humor, but there was also more emotion than I expected.
“I kissed you because if I didn’t kiss you, I knew I’d regret it for quite possibly the rest of my life.”
When Everly and Conri finally get together, the chemistry is definitely there, but I struggled with the primal play. It felt like it came out of nowhere and didn’t really fit the relationship that had been developing. Maybe part of that is because we’ve watched Everly grow up throughout the series, but it also felt a little like something added because it’s popular right now. Don’t get me wrong, it was hot, it just didn’t feel like *them* to me.
“I want to know what it would feel like to have you follow me or watch me . . .” She clears her throat. “Maybe even chase me.” Heat instantly crawls up my spine, my chest tight with a mixture of desire and restraint. “I think you’re describing primal play, Everly.” She swallows thickly, her tongue darting out to wet her lips. “Maybe I am. Maybe that’s my thing.”
Likes:
- Seeing all of the Fletcher couples again.
- I laughed out loud more than a few times.
- Conri becoming a dragon daddy.
- Stevie and Conri together were adorable.
- Conri loving Everly because of all the things that made her “too much.”
Dislikes:
- The primal play felt like it came out of left field and didn’t fit Everly and Conri’s relationship for me.
The Narration:
Listen to this one if you can! Connor Crais is great with accents, and his Irish accent is amazing. I actually had to slow down my listening speed quite a bit to understand the thick accent, but that only added to the experience.
Erin Mallon is one of my favorites, and I love her comedic timing so much. Add Teddy Hamilton and Emma Wilder, and you have an AMAZING audiobook cast. The narration made this one even better, and I highly recommend listening.
The Down & Dirty:
We finally got Everly’s story, and Amy Daws once again kept me entertained with her brand of sometimes silly humor filled with heart. I loved seeing all of the Fletcher couples again, and Conri with Stevie and the animals was adorable.
The primal play didn’t really work for me, but Everly and Conri were still a hot, fun couple, and I loved that he appreciated all the things about her that everyone else considered “too much.” I’m sad the series is at an end, but there are enough loose ends that maybe we’ll get another spinoff! Either way, Bad Boy Era was a fun way to wrap up the Mountain Men Matchmaker series. BONUS: Check out Amy Daws website for a bonus epilogue!
Rating: 4.25 Stars, 3 Spice, 5+ narration

Even thought it’s the last in the Wait With Me Series, but Last on the List is really the first book that kicks off the Mountain Men Matchmaker Series.
