Twisted Knight by K. Bromberg
Narrated by Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connolly
First in a Contemporary Romance trilogy. Does NOT stand alone.

As soon as I saw Twisted Knight by K. Bromberg on NetGalley, I grabbed it. I’ve read many of her books over the years, and she’s ended up on my favorites list multiple times, especially after her F1 series. What I didn’t realize while reading was that Twisted Knight is the first in a trilogy—so imagine my surprise when it ended on a cliffhanger!
Honestly, not knowing it was a cliffhanger worked in my favor. If I’d known, I probably would have skipped it, and I would’ve missed out on a fantastic new series! Twisted Knight has a retro feel, reminding me of those angsty, contemporary romance trilogies with a rich hero—think Fifty Shades, Crossfire, Up In The Air, This Man—and I am here for it.
“Mess my lipstick up.”
It’s been so long since I read a trilogy that I forgot how much time it gives you to really dive into the characters and plot. I love how K. Bromberg let things unfold naturally. Rowan Rothschild’s family owns a spirits company, and she’s dreamed of running it her entire life. But thanks to misogyny, her loser brother is running it into the ground, while she’s stuck as the head of marketing and the face of the company.
“He looks like something I’m not supposed to have, and that makes me attracted to him all the more.”
Her brother made such a mess of the company that it left the door wide open for Holden Knight to swoop in and take over. They might not recognize Holden, but he sure remembers the family that ruined his life—and he’s there for revenge. What he didn’t expect was to fall for his target’s sister.
There’s an instant attraction between them, but it’s not insta-love—more like insta-lust. And let me tell you, K. Bromberg knows how to write a sexy, dominant, possessive hero!
“He’s not allowed to touch you,” he says as he uses the fist in my hair to pull my head back so I’m forced to look at him, so there’s no mistaking his words. “No one is.”
Likes:
- Took the time to really develop the characters.
- Lots of tension and banter.
- It was long but kept me hooked the entire time.
- Felt like an old-school trilogy—the kind that made me fall in love with romance in the first place.
- Angst!
- I loved the corporate drama.
- The cover is gorgeous.
- The perfect amount of very hot sex to story.
Dislikes:
- As of this review, there’s no info on when the next two books will be released.
- Not sure I’ll remember everything by the time the next one comes out—definitely going to need a re-read.
The Narration:
Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connolly were new to me (though they might be pseudonyms because they sounded familiar), and they did a fabulous job! Their performances definitely enhanced the book.
The Down & Dirty:
Rating: 4.25 Stars, 3.75 Flames, 5 Narration
