Times Square by Jana Aston
Narrated by Erin Mallon
Standalone novella
I was looking for a quick 2-3 hour listen while waiting for my pre-orders to arrive on my audible app, and grabbed Times Square by Jana Aston to listen to as I worked on my list. This was originally in the Love in Transit anthology which sadly doesn’t exist anymore, because now I’d love to read how the other authors did it. You see, originally they were each given a blurb and they had to write a story around it. Since I enjoyed this one so much, I may be picking up the rest as they release.
Lauren is a book blogger who moved to New York for her ex-fiance, and though they didn’t work out, she stayed in New York. She is sharing a tiny apartment with 4 girls and bunk beds, has a bitch of a boss at work, and isn’t looking for a man.
Until Max.
“Is there anything sexier than a man absorbed in a book? Not to this self-confessed book nerd there isn’t.”
Max just shows up and is perfect. They have a healthy relationship, great sex and little angst. Though not the most memorable read, at only 100 pages or 2.5 hours, it’s a perfect little one-sitting read or listen, and I enjoyed every second of it.
The narrator was Erin Mallon, and she did a great job, I am just finding her a bit overused lately.
All in all, I found Times Square to be a fun, sexy, angst-free way to spend a few hours!
Rating: 4 Stars, 4 Heat, 4 Narration
