Hopefully someday I can try it out! I haven’t read a lot of books that involve motorcycles so my thoughts immediately go to Travis Maddox…sigh…

I’ve ridden a motorcycle once….scared me to death! I was with my then boyfriend. All he had was his motorcycle that day so of course I was forced to ride it. We were going canoeing and took the canoe on my car. Dropped off the canoe, then took my car to the getting out point. Had to take his cycle back to the starting point. He loves to drive fast. I tried to keep my eyes closed! LOL 😀

My hubs used to have a Suzuki 750 GXR and I loved riding with him. When we were stationed in Hawaii, we’d hop on the bike every weekend and ride up and down the highways having a blast. I would take our dvd camcorder and record the rides so that we could share them with our friends and family back home. We sold the bike because after our daughter was born, my hubs didn’t have time to ride or maintain it as well as he should. We’re hoping to get another bike soon 🙂

No I’ve never been on or plan to be on a motorcycle. Probably because a high school friend’s mom was in a terrible motorcycle accident, had to have surgery and spent a long time in therapy. I think it scarred me. The story that first comes to mind is Beautiful Disaster even though I wouldn’t classify Travis as a hot biker. Still he rides one and I really like him 😉

When I was younger I lived in Italy, everyone either had a Vespa, some type of scooter, or a motorcycle. I was in heaven, lol. I would always be riding on something or making out with my bf on a bike. But this one time I was on a motorcycle (dirt bike) with a friend and he decided it would be funny to do wheelies in freaking traffic. Omg! I had a heart attack at the time, but when I got off the bike I was exhilarated! It was awesome, ok and I’ll admit a bit turned on too.

My husband sold his motorcycle a couple years ago but he has always had one since we met 32 years ago. When we were first dating we had his motorcycle at his baseball game. On the way home after the game we were pulled over for speeding. My husband didn’t have his wallet with him to show his license to the police officer, so he made a show of slowly looking for it in his bag of baseball gear. While he was doing that the police officer started yelling at me for ‘letting’ my boyfriend speed on a city street. When I started to cry, cuz who really likes to get yelled at, the officer just said we should be more careful and left us standing on the side of the road. He never waited to even see my husbands license or give him a ticket! A young girls tears are a powerful thing! lol

It’s my father that introduced me to bikes, but not necessarily in a good way. I remember being very young going with my parents to a competition. It probably wasn’t as bad as I remember, but when you’re little everything else seems so big. I remember watching my Dad literally riding his motorcycle up a hill that seemed almost vertical. Before making it to the top he started sliding back down towards the ground. He crashed and broke his legs ending up with lots of nuts, bolts, and screws holding them together. It made me afraid to get back on one, but not him. He kept buying and riding them and I loved riding with him.

My girlfriend owns a motorcycle and I have ridden with her. My funny story is: After my first 5 minute ride on a motorcycle the next day we went down to Panama City beach, Fl for Thunderbeach. It’s a week long bike rally. Well our first night down there on my 1st actual long ride on a major highway it stormed, I mean like thunder, lightning. hurricane winds and major down pours. I mean this was “The Perfect Storm” material. So not only are we riding through my own personal hell storm, we are also on a major highway at the beach during spring break at night and have to cross a bridge. And I had thought the wind couldn’t get any worse. Finally after an hour ride or pure terror and praying we make it close to the trailer we are staying at only to find out that the dirt roads are now nothing but mud. They looked like a rednecks dream day for mud riding. So me and the other chick that was with her honey had to walk back the rest of the way while sinking and getting stuck in the mud. It was a perfect way to end the night. But I will say I enjoyed the rest of the trip and have ridden several times since.

Don’t ride any longer, my husband had a Harley for 20 years and when we rode, it was awesome but then someone we knew got killed along with his wife and left 2 young kids without parents so I wouldn’t ride with my husband anymore because a accident would have taken 2 of us and we had 2 small kids. He rode occasionally and then he sold it last year. I don’t mind motorcycles but people don’t respect you and sometimes other motorcycles don’t respect you either.

Yes, a yamaha r1. I even took the class to get a motorcycle license. I think its hot when you ride over 90mph, going in between cars. Adrenaline rush. Oh I fell asleep once while riding with my boyfriend after going on an ‘around the world’ ride with his friends.(rode for hours around the bay area).hey I was tired and he was going over 80mph and the wind was relaxing!:)

We don’t own a motorcycle, nor do we have any friends or family who own one. I’ve been on a motorcycle many years ago, when I was in high school. The father of a friend let my friend ride on the back, and then I got to ride on the back after. It was an awesome feeling, although a bit scary too.

We don’t own a motorcycle, but a friend loaned us his a couple of years ago while he was on an active duty tour in Iraq. It was fun and I’d definitely let my man buy us one of our own, so long as we had the extra cash. I don’t really have any good stories, except maybe that my mom’s husband is a biker and looking at her (even knowing her, really), you would NEVER in a million years think that she spends her weekends in the summer on the back of a bike. It’s pretty funny when people find out about that.

MMMMMMM i want one badly!!!!!! i have been on a couple been riding one time! I was working at a hole in the wall bar years ago and being a big girl (i was bigger back then ) and i was never asked to ride before but that is ok i met Walter he was workin in michigan for awhile and he came in when i was working after he was done anyway we became fast friends i made sure he got back to his room safe when he drank too much. We were talking about his harley and i expressed that i had always wanted to go for a ride and that i couldn’t wait to lose weight bla bla and gget someone to take me for one. Well Walter was angry at the fact that people were so quick to judge me and he promised to meet me sunday after i got off of work and take me for my 1st ride. I was excited but i didnt get my hopes up cuz well let’s face it people say things all the time and bail right? lol Well on sunday i was sittin at the bar after my shift and low and behold Walter camoes strolling in walks up to me hands me a helmet and says”Ready for the ride of your life Tami gir?” I just looked at him in awe and the other people in the bar all whooped and clapped and i went for my ride and it was Exhilarating to say the least!!!!!!! We kept in touch when he went back to Virginia and that memory will stay with me forever!! little winded but i love that story!!!

My husband has a restored 1970 Honda 125. Very small bike and not street legal but he it rides it around where we live. He mentions at least once every month that he would love to have a Harley. The die cast ones I’ve bought just don’t cut it vs a real one.

My motorcycle story has to do with the first time I met my future hubby. He is/was best friends with my older brother. He rode his dirt bike over to our house when he was 15. He had ridden it through a field and it was all muddy. He leaned the bike up on our garage door and got mud all over the place. When my dad got home, he flipped his lid and started screaming about the mud. My husband told him to chill out and that is was just mud and could be washed away. I still remember the look of shock on my dad’s face that someone talked back to him. My husband went on to become my dad’s favorite. I was 8 at the time and instantly fell in love with the boy that could stand up to my dad and live to talk about it. We started dating when I was 14 and will have been together for 30 years this August. We’ve been married for 17 years.

Back in 2002 after our youngest was born. My husband decided to get an on road/off road bike. It was legal to ride it on the street but yet you could ride the dirt trails. We lived about 10 minutes from a military post so it was easier for him to cut through the dirt trails to get on post. Any how he was like Irene you need to get on and feel the wind in your hair. Me um no! But I did anyway. So I rode it up to the beginning of our road. Went up a little hill and I didn’t give it enough gas and it stalled. I went to lean to the side to start back up again and I ended up falling off LOL! But the thing was I couldn’t freaking pick it back up to get back on. I debated on walking back down the road to get my husband to help, but I could hear him yelling why did you leave my bike up there. So I leaned it on my legs and started to pick it up, then it got to my hip and finally it was standing up. Phew!! I was never doing that again. I managed to start it back up, hopped on and road it home. My husband was like what happened you stalled?? LOL! I told him I wasn’t going to be ridding it again for a long while because I reached muscle failer trying to pick it back up.

I rode motorcycles in the past with family and friends. Had lots of fun adventures. My husband does not ride motorcycles any more so I don’t.
When I was a little girl my dad had a 69′ Harley we would meet him at work and he would let me and my brother ride home on it with him. And we would try to beat my mom and two older siblings home by taking a short cut through a local golf course. We were chased by the groundskeeper a few times, until the groundskeeper gave up chasing us because he never could catch us. And we always would beat them home but would let them think she beat us by driving around the block slow enough to let my mom pull into our driveway first. We would always get a good laugh out of the ride and keeping the secret was part of the fun. Now as we are all older my dad tells this story to all his grandchildren and they sit and enjoy the story and ask lots of questions. The golf course is no longer there.

I’ve only been on a motorcycle once as a passenger. It was a very short up the street and back ride. I love motorcycles and the hotties that ride them, but mostly just in books and shows. The first time I ever drove on the a highway, a motorcycle crashed in front of me. It was on the NYC Interboro, knicknamed The Snake, and the guy past me going around a 25 mph curve going at least 60 mph. He collide with the metal dividing rail so hard that he and the motorcycle flew up about 12-15 feet in the air. When they hit the ground they bounced up again and the motorcycle came back down, sans rider, and slid a good 50 feet down the highway. The rider came down on his feet so hard that he bounced a good 4 to 6 times before collapsing. The whole thing took less that 1 minute but seemed to last forever and to be occurring in slow motion. My first though at time was ‘OMG! that guy just permanently lost the use of his legs.’ So although they are beautiful and sexy pieces of machinery, as are so many of their riders, I tend to do my loving vicariously from a distance.

I remember the first time he took my daughter on that bike. He was teaching her to ride with her own leather vest he bought her. She loved that thing until she grew out of it. Anyways that is my story. Good luck!!

When I turned 18 I got my motorcycle license and used Harley Sportster. When my husband and I started dating he got his license and had a used Suzuki. I decided there would be no more riding for me until my kids are teenagers. I sold my bike right before my 2nd child was born and my husband felt that he deserved a brand new Harley at 30 yrs old (still trying to figure out why he “deserved” it). Bought a Harley we are still paying for 5yrs later. If I wasn’t so bitter, I would think it was sexy 🙂 Oh well at least I still love his tattoos!

When I was a teenager, I had lot of friends with bikes. One night after a beer run, my friend and I were headed back to the party when he anounced that we wouldn’t go back until we saw a shooting star. We had a short ride enjoying the warm desert breeze – and then we both saw a shooting star. We kept it our secret that night and everyone wondered what had taken us so long to get the beer. We would just smile at each other.

- @catherinecowlesauthor has been a favorite of mi - @catherinecowlesauthor has been a favorite of mine for the last few years. In 2022, the entire Tattered and Torn series released, and I loved every single one of them. I listened to them all on audio, and they each deserve a place on my Best of 2022 list, especially Fractured Sky, which I gave a rare 5+++ stars to.

They also have the most beautiful covers!

The first two audiobooks in this unrelated series The first two audiobooks in this unrelated series were on my Best of 2021 List, and Seatmate by @carabastone has continued the streak for my Best of 2022 list. The full cast narration and the production of this “audioplay” is what made Seatmate a 5-star read for me. I really felt like I was eavesdropping on a real conversation. This was a quick and fun listening experience, and though it’s nothing epic, it stood out to me in 22.

I enjoyed The Back Nine by Rachel Blaufeld. It’s I enjoyed The Back Nine by Rachel Blaufeld. It’s rare to find books about older couples and I so appreciate when an author writes a sexy one. I had a couple of issues with it, and I really struggled with the heroine’s name, James. Every time I read her name (and the female MC for the next book is Billy) my brain had to catch up for a second that it was a girl.

Top Pick of 2022: @kristenashleybooks has been on Top Pick of 2022: @kristenashleybooks has been on all 11 lists (since 2012), and for good reason!
Taking the Leap by Kristen Ashley is my favorite book she has written in a while. It very much focuses on Alex and Rix and it didn’t feel like I had to remember a ton of other characters. I felt their chemistry and how perfect they are for each other.
I love how Kristen handled a disabled hero. This is one you don’t want to miss! Have you read it yet?

Another Top Pick of 2022! The Love Hypothesis by @ Another Top Pick of 2022! The Love Hypothesis by @alihazelwood lived up to all the hype. I absolutely loved the smart, slow-burn romance that subtly addressed a lot of issues without ever banging you over the head with them. This is one of those books you might be able to recommend to even the non-romance reader even though it’s very much a romance. It just has that “something special”.
