Meghan Quinn has been one of my top favorite authors for the last 10 years. I like reading books that put a smile on my face, and Till Summer Do Us Part did just that. Erin Mallon narrating silly situations just added to the fun.
Scottie just started a new job in NYC, where—except for the owner—she’s the only woman at the company. While it has a total “bro” atmosphere, all the guys she works with are happily married. When her boss started talking about her weekend with her husband and the guys chimed in with their own stories, Scottie blurted out that she and her “husband” had plans too, just to fit in.
Pressed about not wearing a ring, she quickly claimed they were having problems. That backfired fast when her boss booked them a marriage counseling session for the next day—with her own husband, who just so happens to be a marriage counselor.
Now Scottie just needs to find a husband. Fast.
Enter Wilder—her best friend’s little brother, who made a fortune from a tech app and now has nothing but time. Scottie and Wilder had never met, but they were total opposites. Scottie had a stick up her ass and Wilder was a lip- and cock-ringed beanie-wearing hottie who loved improv. For Wilder, this was a fun acting challenge. For Scottie, her job was on the line—especially when Wilder agreed to an 8-day intensive marriage camp with her coworkers.
The camp was a blast. The bickering and situations they got into had me cackling. I loved seeing Scottie start to loosen up, and I really enjoyed them as a couple. I loved the book overall, but I wouldn’t put it up there with my Meghan Quinn favorites. Something felt missing—maybe some angst or emotional depth? That being said, I still had a ton of fun with it.
“I can’t unsee her. She…she captures my full attention. I can’t imagine anyone else ever passing up on the opportunity to talk to her, to joke with her, to spend time with her. She’s such a bright light that I never want to lose.”
Till Summer Do Us Part was fun and sexy, and I loved every minute of it, but it didn’t hit quite as hard emotionally as some of her others. This one’s purely a light, happy beach read.
Likes:
- Made me laugh out loud several times.
- There were some meaningful lessons learned from the counseling scenes.
- As a sleepaway camp girl, I loved the setting.
- Wilder was just so fun and easy and likeable.
- Scottie was so relatable with her insecurities.
- The fake fighting.
Dislikes:
- Didn’t have the depth of emotion some other recent Meghan Quinn books have had.
The Narration:
Duet narration featured Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton, with Stephen Dexter playing the marriage counselor. The narration was AMAZING. Erin Mallon’s comedic timing in crazy situations is pure comedy gold. Teddy Hamilton is flirty, fun, and sexy. While Stephen Dexter isn’t usually my favorite romantic lead, I loved him playing the therapist in Till Summer Do Us Part.
The Down & Dirty:
Even a not-favorite Meghan Quinn book is still better than most romcoms out there. That’s how good she is. Her books have been on my Top Picks lists for 10 years straight. Till Summer Do Us Part is a light, easy, fun, and sexy read for summer. It may not have had the emotional impact of The Path to Loving Him, but if you’re looking for a feel-good, laugh-out-loud beach read that works for all ages and relationship statuses, I highly recommend reading or listening to Till Summer Do Us Part.
