Mr. and Mrs. Ana’s Anniversary Party Giveaway

10/28/2013

AA_anniversary

I meant to post this last week while on my annual anniversary trip, but couldn’t get wifi. I don’t know how the hell it happened since there is no way I’m old enough for this, but I have been married half of my life now (which is more than 20 years!) I met my husband when I was 19. He swept me off my feet, and I had insta-love.

We’ve had out ups and downs, but after two kids and over 25 years since we met, I can easily say our marriage is better than ever. You know what helps? Books! Every time I read about an amazing hero in a book, it makes me realize that my guy is like that too.

And of course, the book sex totally helps me keep up with his very active libido, which after over 25 years together (and me gaining a lot of weight) hasn’t waned one bit.

While I’m celebrating my wedding anniversary, Katie Ashley has the anniversary of her book, The Proposition. It was a year ago when I read and fell in love with The Proposition. That was also the first review I added gifs to. I fell for Katie, and couldn’t wait to meet her at the first Wicked Book Weekend. This March, Katie will be attending her 3rd Wicked Book Event, and this is the book that started it all. And since the second in the Proposition Series is obviously wedding related, it fits the theme, so Katie has generously donated a signed copy of both The Proposition and The Proposal. (U.S. please)

Most of my favorite romances are about the couple first meeting and falling in love. But after so many years together, it’s also a pleasure to read about a long-time married couple revving up their sex life. Erika Wilde has kindly donated 5 copies of your choice, paperback or ebook of her hot-as-hell box set of The Marriage Diaries vol 1-4. (paperbacks to U.S. only)

My favorite married couple has to be Frank and Wendy, from What Wendy Wants by Nikki Sexx. This story is about a married couple who has fallen into a rut with their intimate relationship, and she indulges in reading of romance/erotica. He discovers what’s on her kindle and realizes what is lacking in their relationship. It’s a great marriage story! You should all check it out!

Happy Anniversary! My husband doesn’t mind my reading most of the time. He likes to give me a hard time about it but considering he jokingly (partly) says books are the reason why our son was conceived I don’t take it too seriously. My favorite married couple at the moment are Dean and Live (Professor/Professor Hottie/Professor Marval and Beauty) from Nina Lane’s Spiral of Bliss series!

Happy Anniversary! I guess you could call me a stay at home mom with 4 kids under the age of 6. ( I work 16hrs every other weekend). I read a couple chapters here and there throughout the day to pass time. When I first started reading, it bothered my hubby. At first he tried to sabotage my reading by hiding the power cord on me and or scrolling a head by like 50 pages ( Thank god for password protected apps) Once I explained to him that “I can read while you watch FOOTBALL or HUNTING and were spending time together and enjoying our own likes. He was all in favor of my reading then. I luv to read Romance Novels – Young Adult, New Adult, and Erotica. I have learned quite a bit and all in all…..he comes out a head and not complaining. 🙂 Favorite Couple: Ava and Mason Fox….. My #2 favorite series: NSC Series by D H Sidebottom. Of Course nothing can Top Mr. C Grey and Ana Steele as #1 Series.

Happy Anniversary!!! My husband and I use to read together but over the years he reads less and I read a bit (ok, ALOT) more. We have an understanding that I read only during shows that he likes (usually sports) that I do not or when he is gone. It’s a pretty good arrangement as I will get sucked in to a book and basically disappear until I finish it, but he knows if its a GREAT book all rules are off until I’m done! He complains but after almost 20 years he has learned to accept that me and books go hand-in-hand. I think he gives me a hard time just because that is who he is but underneath I think he’s grateful for his guy time that it allows him & for the fact that if reading is my worst addiction then he’s got it made. 🙂

Happy Anniversary! It was just 8 years for my husband and I last month. But I have known him half my life so I kinda know how you feel! Well I haven’t actually read any Katie Ashley books yet. They are definitely on my TBR but I keep getting sucked into series and I haven’t found a lot of time for new ones. So hopefully I can win and I won’t have any more excuses!

DH doesn’t mind me reading. He’ll be away for work and call me, ask me what I’m doing…I’ll say I’m reading and he’ll respond, “of course you are”. Since we always make time for each other, he just takes my reading so much in stride. Favorite married couple in a book/series would probably be Mr. and Mrs. Weasley from the Harry Potter series…they’re just too cute and funny, but absolutely perfect for each other.

The first two audiobooks in this unrelated series The first two audiobooks in this unrelated series were on my Best of 2021 List, and Seatmate by @carabastone has continued the streak for my Best of 2022 list. Another 2022 Top Favorite is Carrie Soto is Back b Another 2022 Top Favorite is Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I am still blown away by the fact that this non-tennis fan loved this all-tennis book so much. I loved that Carrie Soto is Back tackled so many issues women in sports face, especially women of color. This powerful story really illustrated the costs of greatness, and the sacrifices one needs to make in order to make it to the top.
