Review: All In (The Blackstone Affair #2) by Raine Miller

11/09/2012

When Raine Miller sent me the ARC of All In (The Blackstone Affair #2), I kind of freaked. I mean this week had some of the best releases ever, but I really wanted to read this and get the review up by release day. Yet I felt like I had to re-read Naked (The Blackstone Affair #1) first. Review: Exquisite by Ella Frank and Giveaway!

10/30/2012

Exquisite by Ella Frank is unbelievably the author’s first novel. Why unbelievably? Because it was well written, romantic, emotional, and hot as all hell, all in one exquisite story! Funny thing, I planned on buying this novel very soon, but the author ended up sending me one for review, so I read it immediately, and I’m so glad I did…. Read More

The Fade Series by Kate Dawes Reviews and Reading Order

10/21/2012

The Fade Series by Kate Dawes was a series of 3 e-book novellas (each only $.99 for now). Even all together, it is still a fairly short book, about 200+ pages total. They are now selling as one book. 10/16/2012

I really enjoyed the last book I read by J. Sterling, Chance Encounters (see my review here), but I wasn’t really looking forward to The Perfect Game, because I don’t love books with sports stars. The Marriage Trap by Jennifer Probst is the second in the Marriage To A Billionaire Series. The first was the sweet, but forgettable The Marriage Bargain (see my review here). I work for @sawyerbennett123 so perhaps I’m a litt I work for @sawyerbennett123 so perhaps I’m a little biased, but Code Name: Harbor was like the perfect unputdownable listen. The suspense grabbed me from page one and never let go, plus there is a great forbidden romance, just the right amount of steam, and great narration. It’s the second book in the Jameson Force Seattle Series, and stands alone just fine. It was also one of my favorites of the year. I gave a more detailed review on my blog but held off on rating because I work for her. It’s live everywhere. The audiobook with Sean Masters and Erin Mallon is available in the Sawyer Bennett Bookstore or other retailers but not Amazon/Audible.
I picked up Vera Stein Is Fine by Julie Murphy fro I picked up Vera Stein Is Fine by Julie Murphy from NetGalley based on the cover alone, and I’m so glad I did. Vera is 40, plus-sized, childfree by choice, a little bit of a hot mess, and still trying to figure out what she wants from her life. She frustrated me sometimes, but she also felt incredibly REAL, and I never stopped rooting for her. This felt more like a coming-of-age story at 40 than a traditional romance, though there’s definitely a spicy second-chance romance in there too. I loved the quirky Starlight Palms crew, the humor, and seeing older characters living full, sexy lives.🎧 Narrated by Joy Nash with Teddy HamiltonSwipe for my tropes, quick take, ratings & audiobook info, then head to Ana’s Attic for my full review with all my Likes & Dislikes.

Sure there are some differences from the book but you can’t fit the entire 12 hour book into a less than 2 hour movie. I thought they did a fantastic job adapting it. The casting was perfect. F1 romance is finally having its MOMENT!🏎️📚 There F1 romance is finally having its MOMENT!🏎️📚There are now two F1 romance book adaptations in the works, and with Formula 1 romances more popular than ever, I figured it was time to remind you about my Complete Guide to F1 Romances.I’ve been building and updating this list since the beginning of 2024, and it has grown to more than 300 F1 romance books. But honestly they haven’t totally caught on and I don’t know why? Have you seen the F1 drivers? I’m hoping that everyone else finally realizes how exciting F1 can be. There are only 22 drivers risking their lives and traveling to glamorous locations. In real life, I’m obsessed with the strategy. The books on my F1 romance list are organized by series, with standalones included, and I list a trope for every book. They are diverse and include a lot of LBGTQ+ books. New F1 romance preorders are being announced constantly, so I keep the guide updated as I find them. If you know of one I’ve missed, please tell me!And now that F1 romance is making its way from our Kindles to our screens, will that finally make you want to pick one up? 🏎️My Complete Guide to Formula 1 Romance Books is on Ana’s Attic. Cara Bastone has done it again. Her Audible Origin Cara Bastone has done it again. Her Audible Originals are some of my favorite made-for-audio experiences, and All the Time in the World was such a fun listen. It was actually written for audio, with a full cast, sound effects, and Dolby Atmos that puts you right in the middle of the story. Seriously, use headphones in BOTH ears for this one. It makes such a difference! It’s a light sci-fi, time-slip adventure romance with two strangers, a remote island, mysterious wormholes, four days to make it across, and plenty of great dialogue and banter along the way.I don’t usually love graphic audio, but this is completely different. The sound is part of the storytelling rather than something layered onto a book that already existed, and it worked so well for me. @carabastone has had some of my favorite made for Audible books and they are free in Audible plus!
